FDB Eatery can trace its beginning back to 1950, when the original Frozen Dairy Bar first opened its doors. The current owners of FDB Eatery grew up with hot summers filled with freshly made frozen custard. When the Frozen Dairy Bar was about to close in 2000, it was bought with by the current owners, who didn’t want to see this great Falls Church icon disappear.
In 2004 the Frozen Dairy Bar added pizza and sandwiches to the menu, offering light dining options to accompany the frozen custard. During this time, customers old and new continued to flock to the restaurant looking for fresh scoops of frozen custard, and finding now they could also enjoy real NY-style pizza.
In 2014, the entire restaurant was renovated to open FDB Eatery. The full-service restaurant has an entirely new menu showcasing fire-grilled burgers, specialty pizzas, and hand-crafted dinners, while also continuing to make fresh frozen custard on a daily basis.
