The idea for Ferne came to me rather organically. My soon to be nine year old daughter, Grace, and I were discussing ideas for her birthday party. I suggested we throw a garden party at our home where she could invite her friends over, they could enjoy some delicious snacks and beverages all while they got creative (and a bit messy) making their own fairy garden terrariums. She thought it was a great idea!
Soon, the idea became more than just an idea, it became Ferne.
Ferne is the name of my paternal grandmother who loved gardening. We spent countless hours working out in her yard together throughout my childhood, thus making the choice for a name for this new endeavor simple.
