One of my favorite places to go. Good people and a nice, comfortable place to eat.Food: 5/5
Great, friendly service. The interior could be a restaurant set from a 70's crime drama, but if you look closely, everything is clean and relatively modern. You'll hear a lot of Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, and other crooners from the Golden Era on the speakers in the restaurant. Food is good to very good almost everything is homemade and the menu will vary from time to time, but we found some of our meals to be slightly bland, such as the meatloaf, and mashed potatoes, but they were otherwise good. Overall this is a good place, and your kids will be just fine here. There is a kids menu also. Pricing is very reasonable, portion size is very good, and it didn't take too long for us to get our food. Plenty of off-street parking is available.
Just good old fashioned comfort food...Tom and the rest of the staff were quite pleasant and attentive
I had the absolute best meal, and service I’ve ever had in my life. If you look at my history I don’t review restaurants, but this one deserves the absolute best. I brought my two infant children in this was our first dinner out as a family of 4 the staff was beyond accommodating. They brought my daughters food first without hesitation, and her fish was awesome. Then my husband had a Ruben, I had the ribeye and we also got the apple pie for dessert. 10/10 on the food, my ribeye was actually cooked rare like I ordered. I will be back, continually
Great burgers and whiskey cokes.
Waitress was not friendly. Too salty for me. Had an attitude when I asked to do a substitution. Really? It's not that big of a deal and you could be nicer about it!
Went here for my first legal drink back in the '70's and brought my son here tonight for his first legal drink. I was so happy that the vibe is still untouched here after all these years...hell, decades! A warm, friendly place with good drinks, good food and good people!
I've lived in Elmwood for years and one of the most familiar places is The Fernwood Restaurant. My daughter and son in law went last week for dinner and fell in love with the place. I went with them for lunch today. And they never disappoint. From the fresh and tasty new England clam chowder, to their meat loaf special. And then blueberry pie a la mode!!! Absolutely delicious. Our waitress was fantastic and so loved the atmosphere. Still the same many years later . My kids will be living in Elmwood and will make this their new local diner. Thanks for the great food and service. See you soon
Great bar and restaurant with friendly staff and a large selection of food. The nachos are recommended.
