The BEST movie theater in NYC. I am a film buff and their curation of classic movie showings are second to none. You can watch the popcorn being popped behind the counter, read about upcoming shows, or even buy film-related books while you wait. It is always clean and quick to get into the theater. I have come here on so many occasions over the years and have loved every minute. This is a NYC gem that absolutely must be preserved!
Fabulous Joan Baez screening of I am a noise. Amazing film and film makers. Delicious cappuccinos at Film Forum too! Wonderful hosting by CK , assistant to director!
Joan Baez "I Am Noise!" Great personal documentary of her life. We ordered tickets ahead of time. Caught the last presentation of the film. Awesome!
It is a NYC landmark with which I associate too many good memories to count. Their curated film selections are of excellent quality and serve to educate and enlighten. One can always count on the Film Forum for a good showing even when uncertain what to watch. The staff are cordial in a New York way, which is hard to describe but is understood. I recommend the Film Forum to lovers of good cinema in the broadest range of tastes possible.
Went last week for the first time in years and the energy is more buzzy and fun than I remembered. Great premieres programming, delicious concessions, and a clean, well run environment.
Amazing place! But please note, if you’re watching a film with subtitles, there isn’t enough of an incline in the theatre room to avoid seeing people’s heads obstructing the movie. Even just a normal-sized person will obstruct the CC/subtitles in front of you so prepare to crane your head a little bit unless you go early and get a good seat
I was last there over 20 years ago and I had great memories. I took my son to see Robot Monster last night. It was really amazing. The staff was really friendly. The print of the film was incredible. So happy with the experience.
Amazing movie experience. The place was clean and well maintained. Wonderful films!!! The popcorn and bread was ridiculously goooooddd!! You must get them when you’re watching a movie. How I’ve missed this place. I highly recommend this place!!
Go there frequently. Audience is respectful. Concession stand well stocked and merch nice. However, need to fix men's bathroom stall doors.
Saw Lio Mehiel film here Mutt. So so good.
