Pro/Cons from our 4 day stay. Pro- level, full hook up, pull through sites. Con- Younger trees, 3/4 of the camp ground appears to be long term tenants which do not maintain their sites, most of the site for short term are missing picnic benches and water taste terrible. Pro- Easy access from the highway. Con- Highway noise. Pro- Has a pool/playground Con- Pool under construction and appears to have been under construction for quite some time now. Pro- Has laundry room with 4 washers and 6 dryers. Con- Not vey clean, 3 dryers & 1 washer broken and no smoking laundry room have fans in the windows to cool the room but on the other side of the windows is a porch where all the smokers sit and smoke there cigarettes. Pro- Multi-able Showers and bathrooms in main building. Con- Showers and bathrooms could use a serious face lift. Lastly the dumpster is a good walk to throw trash away there were cans the 1st night but were taken and never returned during our stay. We think it is over priced for what you get but just stating what we experienced during our stay so it is in black and white for you to choose if this is the place for you. We would not stay here again. Food & drinks: No convenience stores or restaurants close by. 2 plus miles to get to something.
To the other reviewer, this place is old as dirt! It's come a long way from a place of complete ruin. Many projects worked on year to year. Yes, the contractor that brought the gravel in last year could have done a far better job. The pool has been a work in no progress for years. It's a nicely located place for us to come visit family, so we keep coming back. I kinda like where the dumpster is, don't hear them empty and don't smell it from the sites. I do wish we could get our picnic tables back!
Location is great. It is not easy to find a place to park an rv in Fort Wayne. 5 minutes to get food in Auburn 20 minutes to Fort Wayne. The people who run it are very nice. And yes this park is under rehab. I would like to see pics later after they are finished. I give it 4 stars for location and the great people in the office. If you have ever stayed at a park with rude or obnoxious workers, you appreciate ppl who treat you well. And if you ever spent amount of time driving to a camp off major highways you appreciate the great location.
Very good location. Right off the highway. Our first hour in the campground the sheriffs department and local police department were all over looking for someone. During our hour in our site there was a verbal domestic between a couple permanent campers. The grass was not mowed on our site. Fire pit was full of trash. The permanent camp sites were trashed and piles up. The bathrooms in the office were dirty. Toilets didn’t look like they had been cleaned in a month. Dumpster was piled with trash and that is the first thing you see when you come in. For $55 a night very disappointing. It is maybe a $30 a night location. It could be a beautiful campground if they got rid of their trashy permanent people.
MARCH 2023 Called for reservations, told we had site 12 waiting, BUT if it's occupied blamed "computer issue" go find an empty site. From the highway you'll see first row of newer and clean 5th wheels linedup on spacious sites and a large barn-red building. Appears impressive from highway, but this Rv resort is NO resort. Behind 1st row are very narrow sites throughout, no room to maneuver large rig in site. Dog droppings everywhere. Trash piled in firepits. Sites too close to other rv sites. Permanent residents and broken-down trailers or vehicles. No trash bins in the vacinity of your site, large dumpsters on other side of park. Pool has been "under construction" for several years with no improvement. Larger rigs will have difficulty moving around the narrow road in the park. Photos are extremely misleading. Will never be back.
This is a fairly new resort, and it is a mess. Sites are narrow, our sewer hook up was unreachable and needed repair, poorly done gravel, messy everywhere, As you pull in, you are greeted by overflowing garbage, 95% permanent individuals. If it had rained, we could have been in trouble with the roads. 55.00 a night.Location: 4/5
Drive from this place as fast as you can. 55 dollars a night!!! Site was a muddy hole gravel was not wide enough for tires to fit they will be covered in mud when you leave. No WiFi to far for signal to reach. The Website was not accurate.
I’ve been at fireside for 3 months / all of the staff here is very friendly / the campground is very quiet and close to a lot of stores good location
Office help is very good, on top of everything any time of day, grounds keeper lacs some serious motivation, drive, focus and any level of disapline, nobody wants to come up on a weekend and hear a mower or weed eater running, this should all be done by Thursday, he blew grass all over the side of my camper and didn't weed eat under neight the push out for weeks, not to mention when he did finally mow the grass was super long and he just baled it right in the middle of the lot, the grass clippings being left in the pull throughs was very bad as well along with the grass being blown onto the drive going up to the main office, easy one man job given the property size
My husband and I lived here for three months. During his travel nursing assignment. Our first interaction with the previous front desk girl was not great so we had planned on leaving as soon as we could. Our site number 5 flooded terribly. We were ankle deep water. But what I noticed was the owner really tried to improve things. He sent out surveys and immediately started making improvements on the RV site. There is a new front desk girl and she is amazing! People are super friendly there. We made friends. And had fun. We ended up staying there and the RV site just got better and better. The grounds guy Jed is amazing. I know there have been some bad reviews. And some were valid. But give it a try because the owner is really trying to improve and make it a great place to stay. I would come back and stay again. Especially with the efforts the owner is making to make improvements.
