This place is great! We've been here twice. Once in a regular campsite and most recently at one of the "bike-in" sites. Both were well kept and clean. The amenities in terms of beach access, playground and hiking trails are plentiful. I loved the "bike-in sites". Easily accessable from the Three Rivers trail system with many signs leading the way, the sites had a fire ring, build in hammock poles, a bike rack, trash cans and a food locker. The bathrooms were only a few feet away as well. The bike sites are non-reservable so you just show up, pay the fee and you're all set.
This campsite has won me back to the possibility of camping. The spots were well manicured, and the amenities were well kept. The workers were painting the enclosures while we were there. The beach was beautiful. The only problems we found were the bugs. We were eaten alive by mosquitoes and flies. Otherwise, it was a very peaceful place.
It's a good place to go if you want simple camping. You can reserve a campground 1 year away and the one amazing site always goes booked for a year. They have bike trials so bring a bike. Sometimes you can rent one from them. You can rent a canoe too. Beach and playground. No electricity sites but they have a few that let you bring a generator. This isn't a place I'd recommend bringing the kids on 4th of July weekend. It does tend to get loud and obnoxious.
Clean great beach and great sites. One suggestion boat parking for campers
Great camping area. We loved the swimming area very clean and we could bring our floating toys. There isn't a life guard. This is definitely a family friendly area with a large park, volleyball area, and restrooms scattered around. Looks like you can rent kayaks and canoes, too.
Great campsite for families! Relatively quiet and big lots! The beach is really nice with a fishing pier and dock for canoe/kayak rentals. Hiking trails around Carver Park Reserve are great for kiddos as well!
First camping experience for us. Parked our truck and boat easily. Plenty of room for the tent. Even had some rain but everything dried very fast. Awesome set up!!
HIGHLY DON’T RECOMMEND if you have a camper and use a generator. Only 5 site are allowed to have generators, and they make you turn them off at 10. Everyone is spaced very close together. I feel like this is more of a campground if you want to tent it or use a pop up camper.
Really great experience and excellent campground. Very friendly, clean and well kept area. Beautiful views along 2 lakes that surround the campground. Very quiet hours and not overcrowded. Spacious and well laid out with nice roads as well as decent porta potties and restrooms. We had an excellent weekend full of fun and relaxation in the Minneapolis area visiting family and attending events. Will definitely return here again!
Campground is well kept - grass cut short, gravel graded, pit toilets kept stocked with toilet paper & hand sanitizer. Sites are spaced out and relatively flat. Recycling and composting is encouraged, with large containers available for you to do so. Downsides - located off a busy highway, resulting in lots of road noise invading the “peaceful” setting. Also, on site office is only open Thursday through Sunday, which means, if you stay during the week, some of the services aren’t readily available ex. kayaks and canoes can only be rented on the weekends. Dogs not allowed by the beach.
