OUR FIRST CAFÉ OPENED FOR BREAKFAST AT ABOUT 7 A.M. ONE MORNING IN 1993. SETTLED IN A QUIET NEIGHBORHOOD CALLED CANDLER PARK ON THE EAST SIDE OF ATLANTA, WE SOLD OUT OF OUR SIGNATURE BISCUITS BY 11 A.M. THAT DAY.

More than 20 years later, we are an institution–growing to 14 locations throughout Georgia, North Carolina and Florida. But we always kept that quintessential neighborhood spirit and focused on our Southern-inspired menu of comfort food made with fresh ingredients. Though we’re famous for our grits and biscuits (we bake almost 5,000 biscuits per week at each location), our loyal guests throughout the Southeast come join us to enjoy Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner throughout the day.

It had been many years since our last visit to this Flying Biscuit location. We remember it used to be so busy and always full. We went on a Saturday early morning 7am-ish. The only hostess/server there let us pick our own seat. Including us there were only two tables occupied. Not sure if it was because it was still early in the morning or the COVID situation hasn’t improved to bring the volume of customers back to the pre-pandemic level. Our drink and food orders were taken quickly. The drinks were served right away. But it took over 15 minutes for the food to be served. It wasn’t a very busy time; we saw one other pick-up order being prepared during the same time, maybe that was why our food took that long to be served. Food tasted as good as what we remembered! A couple minor areas that we hope to see improvements: No butter was offered by default with the biscuit. Although the applesauce was offered, we wished they would just have a small bowl of butter chips on the table. Sticky honey bottle. The bottle was almost empty and the lid and the bottle were preeeety sticky. They should be cleaned nightly to provide a better customer experience. The Canadian bacon slices they use in the Classic Benedict, we don’t recall if they have always been this thinly sliced. But we wished the slices could be thicker. Maybe it was due to still being in the early morning hours, but the two servers we interacted with were a little bit “cold”. We didn’t feel they were energetic or genuinely friendly. Overall, we had a good dining experience and enjoyed the food. We love to support our local ATL businesses and would recommend this place to anyone!
Okay food, okay service, overwhelmed staff and lots of dirty tables. We had brunch on Friday here and “okay” seemed to be the theme. I’ve eaten here a few times and have never been overly impressed but was hoping for a solid breakfast. At $38 for two people and everything on the table being server lukewarm means I will pass going forward. The pancake wasn’t hot, my omelet still had unmelted cheese in it and the biscuit wasn’t warm either. It wasn’t terrible, just not great. It looked like they had been slammed prior to us coming in because several tables had dirty dishes but they did catch everything up before we left.
The location kind gives you older diner vibes with colorful decor and tables. The service was excellent and food pretty good. I would not recommend the steak and eggs but my clients loved their meals. Large portions as you can see!

The worst breakfast in my whole life! Pancakes, eggs, cheese and bacon was horrible! It was my first time in an Flying Biscuit and probably the last time! The service wasn’t bad, but if your customer isn’t satisfied with his food and tells you, you should pay more attention.
Amazing biscuits, amazing grits, and everything else cooked to perfection. Friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable wait staff. Everything clean and dang near brand new. Interior painted whimsically in vibrant colors. For the serving size alone, you get a great value for the price. Add in the superior quality and the value skyrockets. We'll definitely be back. Parking: There was plenty of parking in front of the restaurant. We got a spot within 30 feet of the door. Wheelchair accessibility: The aisles twixt the tables and booths are wide enough for a wheelchair and wait staff to pass and not crowd each other or diners in their seats.
Hands down the best grits in town! First time trying breakfast from this amazing restaurant & I enjoyed my hot breakfast with a nice cup of fresh orange juice! Ok so unfortunately my order was to go & my meal looked so good I thought about pictures after eating! No worries I’ll be back to dine in soon! Highly recommended for a phenomenal breakfast & excellent service!
Holy breakfast was this place good! THE fluffiest biscuit I think I have ever had. The grits too! So good! Everytime I order grits at restaurants I'm disappointed but not here! The grits were so creamy and buttery, great flavor and texture. The chicken sausage patty had such a home-y flavor that just hit the spot. The hot chicken & waffle looked and tasted amazing, sauced to perfection. It was very busy this sunday morning, and I can see why.
Ordered from Flying Biscuit today. Was told my order would take 10 min. Got there in 3 and it was done. Asked for over medium eggs, got two raw eggs cracked in the bowl. Chicken wasn’t all the way done and was two of the smaller chicken nuggets ever for 13+ dollars. Never again and will be spreading the word at my nearby hospital where I work. SMH
I have no idea where to start. We ordered 5 different things from pancakes to "the hangover" and grits... Nothing I mean nothing disappointed. Word of warning though, bring your appetite.
