We visit some grace sites every year to pay respects to the dead. The counselors are able to help arranged most of the necessities. The wake and funeral service is good. Outside the plots are well cared for and stones in good overall condition.
Forest Park Lawndale, Elsie Hernandez, and Adrian Martinez have exceeded our expectations on our recent funeral service. Elsie with our preplanning funeral arrangements and Adrian with our funeral service experience was so effortlessly carried out and detailed in the Grand Chapel. We received many great compliments of a beautiful service due to the compassionate staff at Forest Park Lawndale. We utilized the Grand Chapel, the small reception area and the Magnolia Suites, a larger reception area. The parking lot is large enough to fit a large attendance of family and friends. Elsie Hernandez is our family service counselor and through her we own generational properties and have a lifetime bond with Forest Park Lawndale. Thank you Forest Park Lawndale, Elsie Hernandez and Adrian Martinez for your outstanding professionalism and commitment during our time of need. Thank you for allowing our family to express themselves and respecting all of our families wishes.For that we are eternally grateful, no pun intended.
Forest Park Lawndale met all our expectations during our recent funeral service needs. We have an upcoming committal service and the support of Elsie Hernandez and Adrian Martinez and the staff have been superb. They have shown excellence in every deed in the capacity of their profession. Thank you
UPDATE: I once again visited my mother grave site only to find her vase once again laying on the ground. I feel this is definitely a groundkeepers issue not being cautious while trimming the lawn. I have reached out to Ruthie McGilbert location manager but have yet to hear back from her. It is very upsetting to see this neglect and disrespect occurring to my mother's final resting place. Yesterday I went to visit my mother at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery as I always do several times a year. I found the base of her flower vase had been broken as well as some scuff marks on the vase. So I went to report it to the office as damaged most likely by the grounds crew, upon speaking with a representative there who appeared to be on his way out since he had a briefcase in his hand who was very nonchalant and unsympathetic expressed to me since I did not purchase the marker and vase from the funeral home that they had no responsibility to repair it even if it was damaged by their grounds keepers. His exact words were "There is some expectation of damages and had I purchased the vase from the funeral home it would have had lifetime coverage against this type of incidents and would be repaired/replaced by them." I was given two options to have the vase repaired, either contact the company who provided vase and marker or file a claim with my homeowners policy. This was not the first time her vase has been damaged there. A couple of years ago her vase was smashed at that time they indicated it was most likely due to vandalism since they had had other reports of damages, this time they replaced the damaged vase. I remain angry and heartbroken over the lack of compassion and carelessness I have received from Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery since choosing to bury my mother there in 2006, my family also has loved ones buried at Brookside Cemetery for the past 25 years and to this date there has been no damages to the family vases or markers
I am so glad I went to Forest Park Cemetery! They were all professional and helpful in such hard and sad moments. It was the most pleasant experience! I originally went to another cemetery where they made us walk to the spot that was “believed” to be available. Being that this was the first time I’ve coordinated a burial, I thought that was how service was supposed to be but after visiting Forest Park I soon realized Forest Park was the place to bury our loved one.
This is a beautiful well kept cemetery with large mature trees a nice lake with ducks. Very peaceful resting place for everyone's loved ones.
Karla was very helpful with explaining the different prearrangement plans they have and selecting the best options for my mom based on what we needed. Craig was also of great help coordinating the funeral services. They have a great staff.
I want to give a big warm thank you to Miss Tiffany and to Elsie Hernandez for going out of their way and beyond to help me during a very tragic time. Elsie helped me to set up my brothers final resting place and I cannot thank her enough for her efforts and her kindness all in a quick but never rushed manor. I sincerely thank you for helping the process run a little smoother.
Terrible experience. 1. From them not having the director overseeing the viewing. 2. no one assigned to play and que the music at the viewing. 3. forgetting to send the limousine the day of the funeral to pick up our family when we paid for it. 4. Taking 9 months to produce art work proofs for the foot markers and Memorial bench and countless unnecessary revisions. 5. Taking 18 months to receive the foot markers and bench and not calling me to let me know it finally arrived. 6. Losing one granite vase for the Memorial bench, still haven't found it or replaced it. 7. Taking away and not replacing the brass ground vase that was at my Mothers foot marker. Yet they say they have it jn the back but 4 weeks later their ground staff is too busy, lazy or just doesn't care to install it. Talk about sad! 8. Telling me they will do things to correct their mistakes and not following through. 9. One horrible disappointment after another. If we didn't already have property there I'd go someplace else. I for one and my btother will be using a different funeral home when our time comes. The staff and management don't care they just take your money. Don't pay with cash they'll take it and screw you over. Use a credit card to pay so that you can get your money back when they screw up . Horrible experience!!!
10 stars I want to thank everyone at the Forest Park Lawndale Funeral home for the wonderful job they did on servicing the funeral for my brother Rene. They did an exceptional service H U G E shout out to the funeral director, Maria López & Myra who never made us feel like we were being a bother. They are both compassionate and very patient. I recommend this funeral place
