The Franklin Park Coalition, a diverse community voice for the city's largest park, located in the geographic heart of Boston.
Franklin Park Coalition (FPC) is a non-profit organization dedicated to restoring and preserving Franklin Park – the jewel of Frederick Law Olmsted’s Emerald Necklace and Boston’s largest park. We want to give park users an opportunity to help care for the park’s special places and have a voice in decisions that impact the park. Most of all, we want Franklin Park to get the attention and resources that this historic landmark and community resource deserves. Our main programs include organizing the popular Elma Luis Playhouse in the Park summer concert series, providing summer jobs working in the park to local youth, hosting cultural and historical festivals, and restoring the woodlands in Franklin Park.
The Franklin Park Coalition's mission is to serve as a voice for Franklin Park, a 527-acre historic green space located in the geographic heart of Boston and surrounded by some of the city’s most diverse neighborhoods. We work to engage all park users and community members through advocacy, programs, and restoration.
Our work falls into three program areas: 1) Conservation & Stewardship, 2) Events, and 3) Advocacy & Outreach. We also like to think of these three categories as “Work”, “Play”, and “Engage”—the three pillars of the Franklin Park Coalition.
