Dr. Hakim is wonderful, transparent, and through. She provided me with an excellent visit and laid out the information in an easy to understand way. I am glad I chose her and this practice for my care. They were able to see me much sooner than any other practice near my home. Would recommend for Endo services.
I tried to do research to find the best endocrinologist within a 200mile radius and I have yet to find one that has helped me. Unfortunately, the “nurse practitioner” here told me to decrease my thryroid medicine, even though I told her the last endocrinologist who did that made my levels drop dangerously low, now I am at my all time lowest levels with a TSH of .01, I have lost 75% of my hair, I’m exhausted 24/7, weak, unable to focus at work and I’m only in my 30s! It’d be great if actual experienced, competent “doctors” were the only ones able to treat patients. She even told me they have thousands of patients and couldn’t treat me until I establish a relationship with them by going to appointments every few months. Maybe if I didn’t have to work full time and had the money to afford to constantly be at the doctors office but I’d prefer to be treated at a single appointment that I pay a lot of money to obtain. The endocrinologist here may be good but my experience with the nurse practitioner was terrible. Playing with people’s health is very dangerous and I blame her if something happens as a result of my low levels because I fully expressed my concerns and she proceeded to lower my medication anyway.
Dr. Doesn't keep appointments on time is frequently 45 min to an hour late and I usually have the first appointment of the day. It usually takes days to get a response when you leave a message. Rarely do you get a person when you call l could go on but I think you get my point. I left this group.
Ive been trying to get an appointment as a new patient for 2 yrs now. I called and left a message that my PCP sent a referral to them as a new patient and never got a call back. I decided to call and leave several messages pertaining to the referral when finally a nurse called after 2 weeks stating that none of the Doctor there were accepting any patients who had been diagnosed with diabetes. This is an very disappointing. Now looking for a doctor to help me with getting my diabetes under control. There website says that they are accepting new patient so I dont understand why i was told otherwise.
Office staff is terrible to you on the phone and in person like you're bothering them. Dr. Hakim is the only good person there. She's an amazing doctor and is the only reason I continue going to FIMES. She's been treating my Hashimoto's for almost 10 years now. So highly recommend if you can get in to see Dr. Hakim otherwise save yourself the trouble!
I have been a patient here for 5 years. I called re: side effects of a new medication prescribed by the diabetes PA, Jin. I left messages for 3 consecutive days. No one has called me back. This is not the first time this has happened at this practice, but it will be the last time it happens.to me. My health is too important to wait days for a callback. I wish they felt.the same.
Dr. Shah is very thorough and compassionate. He asks the right questions and listens carefully. My husband and I could not be more pleased with the care we receive here. The office staff always call back when you leave a message, and will fit in appointments when the need is clear.
Dr Hakim is a wonderful doctor. She takes the time with you and doesn't rush through the appointment, she answers all questions and you feel she really cares about your welfare. She has a great staff. I have no complaints. I even refer others to her.
Dr. Hakim is an experienced and excellent endocrinologist. She listens to your concerns and questions and truly cares about all her patients. Her Administrative Assistant, Meta, is experienced and very caring...always takes the time to help and answer your questions.
Dr. Hemen Shah is the BEST!! Takes the time to explain your concerns and evaluates all of your testing results and prescribes a unique program for your needs. Have recommended on numerous occasions. Shirley, Dr. Shah's staff nurse is excellent too. From entering the offices to departure all staff are pleasant and very helpful
