The only reason this review is 2 stars intead of 1 is because of Dr. Young, who is one of the most kind doctors I have ever encountered. The rest of this practice is terrible. If your OB sends you here, go literally anywhere else if you can. Every appointment starts an hour or more late. Are you a partner? Too bad, go wait in the car, you can't come in the waiting room. Is it 30 degrees outside? That doesn't matter. This place doesn't care. These restrictions made sense during covid, but get over yourselves now. Office staff was rude too, completely ignoring partners trying to join their spouses once the appointment starts.
My husband took off work to come with me today to see our baby on the ultrasound, but we also had our 2 year old with us. I was told that I could not have our 2 year old in the building at ALL. They basically told us that she had to wait in the car like a dog. I have NEVER had a health care provider tell me to reschedule or leave my child outside. My pregnancy is high risk, and I can't have my husband with me?! Because we have another baby that's on this side of my uterus?!?! We drove 30 minutes here to get turned away because we had our 2 year old with us. For a place that specializes in babies, they are not family friendly or understanding.
The ultrasound tech was wonderful but I do not recommend Dr. Wayne Kramer. Unless you enjoy being talked to like you’re an idiot incapable of making decisions. Will not be seeing him again. Just as an update, I haven’t been contacted by anyone from the office. It could be because I hadn’t updated my name in google prior to leaving a review however I did use the feedback form provided to other reviewers below as well as one I received the day after my appointment via email.
Wonderful doctors and nurse practitioners. Great bedside manner, patient, informative. I only wish they delivered babies. I’d have preferred to go to them for all my prenatal care.
I will admit I noticed if I don’t do pre check-in, my wait time is almost 40 minutes. So, I will agree on that part of many reviews I’ve seen. However, I will take the wait time to see a doctor that will actually take the time to listen to their patients. Dr. Kramer is beyond amazing - I would recommend him to anyone. He really takes the time to listen to what I have to say and answer my questions; overall, I feel supported every time I see him. Lately, I’ve been having issues at my regular OB office. So, when I came in for my last ultrasound appointment I asked for his input on a recent diagnosis I received that didn’t make sense to me. Dr. Kramer took a look at the facts, listened to what I had to say, and gave me his professional opinion without being dismissive or demeaning. He tells me like it is in a positive constructive way, and genuinely seems like he wants the best outcome for me and my baby.
I routinely wait 1-2 hours to be seen every single appointment and the doctor will spend all of 3-5 minutes with you. They spend no time asking questions about your pregnancy, but somehow tell you what you need to do.. they give conflicting information over my OB at SMH. They use fear language and have caused me so much stress over seemingly non-issues. There was one day I showed up for my appointment they gave me an appointment card with the time and date written on it and I “wasn’t in their system” so they made me come back a different time, like my schedule and time doesn’t matter. This practice makes me feel like cattle, no compassion when I am in my most vulnerable state. The only plus is that I get to see my beautiful daughter, and I have access to the photos online quickly. The rest is a nightmare… I do not recommend.
Giving a 2 star mainly for the convenience of the location. Some staff are nice as well. HOWEVER, the wait is painfully long especially when you have other children that you have to dump off onto a sitter or make your spouse take off work week after week because this practice refuses to let siblings in. The spouses have to wait outside like dogs. Animals at vets get treated better than that. This is so behind on the times. Just about other MFM in surrounding states allows both parents and siblings. I really hate to give such a poor rating, but this is a reality. If you are a mom of other children you can expect to be told to cancel your appointment if you can’t scrounge up childcare. I really hope they take families into consideration and reverse this heinous rule. I can’t imagine them dropping masks any time soon either. If that’s their thing then so be it. Moms should never be forced to go to a high risk appt alone which is essentially what is being done when a spouse has to stay home with another child/children.
Let me first say that everyone was kind and the equipment used is outstanding!! From the front desk, inside the ultrasound suite, getting my blood work and talking with the Doctor; everyone was nice. The only reason I gave 3 stars is that the genetic counselor was overwhelming. She talked THE WHOLE TIME during our ultrasound, so I did not feel I got the full experience of looking at my Babe, whilst trying to hear all the statistics and info that I was being told. Also, mentioned so many times that I was over 35, while I totally understand the precautions; I don't think it needs to be overly used throughout the appointment. Other than that and a small mix-up with the medication I was on according to my chart; all other experience was good.
This was my first time coming to the Frederick office, I usually go to the Hagerstown location. And I must say that I will never ever come or recommend this location. First off, your husband/spouse/significant other cannot come inside to wait with you. Then I literally had to wait an hour & a half PAST MY APPOINTMENT TIME to be seen. This location has displayed lack of consideration for peoples time, including the people they’re with who have to wait as well in the car- wasting gas due to ac/ heating and the attitude the lady at the back desk gave my husband for coming in with me. As a healthcare worker myself, my experience today was truly ghetto.
The wait is awful I have to wait an hour everytime I come in for my appointments I usually have appointments set at 3 pm never get seen till 3:45-4 which is insane, they are never on time but Dr.Young is wonderful very helpful and informative always can answer any questions I have or concerns being high risk having a doctor that actually listens is very comforting. I highly recommend him wonderful doctor. The front desk ladies are always very nice and always have small talk with me. The ultrasound techs however are hit and miss some are nice and talk and explain while others aren’t always gentle nor talk while they are doing the ultrasound which is extremely weird to me I feel they should all explain what they are looking at. Wish they could actually be on time for people appointments though that’d definitely give them 5 stars I came here two years ago when I had my son and it never took this long not sure what’s happened with the times.
