The Friends of Seminole Library is an active and dedicated group of volunteers organized to support the services and programs of the Seminole Community Library located on the St. Petersburg Seminole campus at 9200 113th St. N., Seminole, Florida.
The mission of the Friends of Seminole Library ("FOSL") is to support and promote the services, resources, programs and development of the Seminole Community Library located at the St. Petersburg College Seminole campus.
The Friends Shoppe is located just inside the Seminole Community Library and sells used books, magazines, DVDs, CDs, audiobooks, earbuds, and jewelry items at very reasonable prices. Most books are just $1. Current magazines are 50 cents, past magazines sell for 25 cents.
The retail space of the Shoppe has almost 2000 adult and children's books and magazines. Its success can be credited to the participation of dedicated FOSL volunteers, a community that generously donates books and other items, and the loyal customers who support the Shoppe.
Donations of DVDs, jewelry items, books and current year magazines that are in good condition are welcome and can be dropped off at the Library's loading dock located to the right (west) of the outside book return drop.
The Friends Shoppe Managers are Carol Rodhouse, Jean Cowan, Elizabeth Phillips, Lisa Lombardi and Deb Pennington. The Shoppe is operated by a staff of almost 50 part-time volunteers.
