The Friends of the Birmingham Museum's purpose is to support and supplement the mission of The Birmingham Museum.
The purpose of the Friends of the Birmingham Museum (formerly the Birmingham Historical Society) is to support and supplement the mission of the Birmingham Museum by increasing community awareness of the Museum and of the history of Birmingham. The Friends will raise funds to support Museum and community history projects; encourage interest in the preservation of sites and structures of historical significance or aesthetic distinction in the City of Birmingham; and engage in programs commensurate with the stated purpose.
