The service we had for my dad was lovely and the grounds are well kept. My only complaint is that my father past in 2019 over 3 years ago and still doesn’t have year of death on his tombstone. I have gone inside 3 times to ask for them to put up 2019 on his stone and they apologized and said they would get on that right away. Went yesterday and still nothing :- it’s hard to move forward.
Thank you for this opportunity to briefly share our experience and thoughts of Garden Sanctuary with Director Peri Craven and their awesome staff. The need for their services quickly came upon us and a friend in the area told us to make a phone call to Peri. That one phone call opened the door to a highly caring & loving group of folks who immediately came to our beckoned call & need. They took care of everything which included all peripheral needs such as the Church & Reception plus anything else we needed or desired. We were 600 miles away and there was no one else but us to handle this situation as my sister-in-law did not have children & her husband passed away twelve years early. My wife's sister was in Hospice for a week & we knew then we must plan for the inevitable & that was when we called Peri. When she passed, Peri & her staff took over all aspects and it was in a real sense & a thing of beauty & comfort to watch it unfold. Yes, indeed it was an impeccable performance. Peri & Garden Sanctuary's entire attitude was one of impeccable nature as they never missed a step. Their attitude was totally involved with making sure they attended to our needs no matter what it might be. I would suggest without any hesitation that if your needs come to this point of someone passing from this earthly existence that you make the same phone call as we did to Peri Craven & Staff at the Garden Sancturary. Also, you will do your entire family a most wonderful favor by planning your own inevitable day with these awesome folks. To us they stand on the highest level of the Impeccable Ladder of Service that one can imagine. We Thank you Peri & Garden Sanctuary for turning a difficult situation into one of comfort and love with a most beautiful Celebration of Life. Thank you, God, for sending these special loving folks to our family.
I had a great experience with Garden Sanctuary. Peri is so kind and understanding and was a true pleasure to work with. Planning a funeral is never easy, but they made it seamless and truly listened to our requests to make it exactly how we envisioned it.
Update 06/2023: Following is my original review. My current comment is based on my interactions after the funeral is over. Since I'm out of state, I have floral arrangements sent directly to the cemetery to be placed on my uncle's grave. When I get notification that the arrangement has arrived, I contact Peri to let her know and ask at her convenience if she could send a photo when it's placed since I only get to visit once a year. Without fail, she always has something kind to say and sends a photo which is greatly appreciated. This kind of service after the fact makes me happy with my choice. Original review 2021: Planning a funeral is never easy. Planning a funeral when you're out of state is even more difficult. I chose this funeral home based on reviews. I felt it was only appropriate to help others who might be in the same situation as I was. My uncle passed unexpectedly and I was left with the task of planning his funeral and burial. Being from out of state, I relied on an internet search and hoped I chose well. I did. From the moment I called, Peri was truly amazing. She made me feel like my uncle would be in good hands and he was. We arranged what we could over the phone. When I finally arrived, I was glad with my choice. Most wakes I've been to are in dimly lit rooms with a couch in front for the family and rows of chairs. Not that funerals are a "fun" event but the atmosphere usually makes it heavier. The room where the wake and service would be was light, airy and inviting. The seating arrangements were several small tables with chairs. The stained glass windows were breathtaking. It truly felt more like a celebration of my uncle's life than a sad event for family and friends. While making arrangements, Peri never made us feel rushed or pressured. It was always, "You choose what you feel your loved one would want." At a time where some funeral homes take advantage of vulnerable family members, this was not the case. The florist they use for their arrangements is amazing. While we had a spray in mind, the flowers in the picture weren't quite what we wanted. We spoke with the florist and they customized it to our specifications. It was even more beautiful than the picture. At the wake, we were greeted warmly by the staff and offered sincere condolences. At the funeral, we decided to put a few personal items in with my uncle. The care and the tender way Peri placed these items in my uncle's hands was beyond moving. While she didn't know my uncle, she treated him as if he were her own family member. While this part of my review might not be relevant post COVID, they did adhere to CDC guidelines. Masks were required while in the building. Hand sanitizer was readily available. There was a limitation on the number of people who could be in at one time but had a system in place to allow others to come in to pay their respects. There was enough room to be socially distanced and they offer streaming services for those who couldn't attend or didn't feel comfortable attending. I would highly recommend this funeral home to anyone who needs to make arrangements for a loved one. Not only will you be treated with respect and care, but so will your loved one. The reason why I didn't give a 5 star rating is for the cemetery side. While the grounds are very well kept, beautiful and peaceful, the individual we dealt with in picking out my uncle's resting place needed to learn a little more about compassion. I understand it's his job to sell a plot, but it truly felt like a used car salesman approach which was a turn off. In addition, we were quoted a price for the plot in ground burial and all that was involved i.e., vault, opening of the grave, etc.. The actual price ended up being almost three thousand dollars more than what we were quoted at the high end. This can be a shock to family members who have to pay this amount up front. So I would suggest anticipating to pay more for this part. The range we were quoted for the funeral home side fell into the low end of what was quoted.
My dad passed on Jan 6 2021 . We contacted Dignity Memorial and they are the best. Perry and they entire staff was excellent. They took care of every detail from body transport to the military honors. Perry went beyond the call of duty. She was at my mom side all of the way from beginning to end. We love everything they did we decided to purchase our family plots at Garden Sanctuary Funeral Home. David was a true gentleman helping us through the entire process. The entire staff was excellent I can't say enough how great the entire staff was. If you need there service this is definitely the place to go. Truly the best place
This year's been hard for our family. In January we lost my father in-law & in September of this year my mother in law. Both times the staff at Garden Sanctuary have guided me in planning the perfect final farewell to our loved one's. Peri & All The Staff @ Garden Sanctuary are kind, compassionate , loving individuals. No question was unimportant to them no detail to big or to small. They guide you every step of the way with no pressure asking along the way "how are you doing,?how can we help? What do You need" ..i loved that..they helped keep me on track with my list of things to do..even reminding me to rest and take a little me time when i was feeling overwhelmed with everything.. You can have the service as simple or complex as you want .we opted to have a celebration of life with music & pictures playing throughout the building. We made their comfortable , warm & inviting building ours for the day. It was nice to not have to rush as they did not double book the building....i didn't even have to worry about feeding everyone . We opted to have the reception catered right at the Sanctuary. The food was wonderful! Catered by The Stuffed Mushroom & they even packaged up any extra food for us to bring home! The cemetery it's self is beautifully kept, everything is green and the buildings clean, tidy and orderly. All i can say is this" Thank you to Peri & Staff for making a difficult time in our lives a little easier!"
Even though, we most relate Funerals with sadness and stressful times. I can only say that, in my experience, The Garden Sanctuary Funeral Home Dignity Memorial provided me, family and friends with the most amazing celebration honoring my mother and her wishes. Their kindness and attention of detail would always be part of our memories. They listen and delivered exactly what we wanted, we even shared some tears. I wanted to take a moment to say THANK YOU on my family’s behalf for making this transition a little easier and for creating a unique, peaceful and seamless celebration of life for mom. With much peace, love and light. Until the next time the heavens called for for another angel
The entire Garden Sanctuary staff did a fantastic job for my mom’s funeral process. We were very pleased with every aspect- from our initial meeting to the service itself. They arranged everything so we didn’t have to worry about anything. My family and I highly recommend Garden Sanctuary with 5 stars +
Peri Craven and the entire staff at Garden Sanctuary are wonderful. I may live thousands of miles away from Florida but the staff made me feel as if I was right there in person planning the funeral service for my aunt. The visitation and service with their personal attention exceeded all my expectations. Peri and her staff went out of their way to take care of everything so when I arrived there were no concerns or worries.
I went to garden sanctuary because my mom and dad made arrangements so we kids would not be burdened with making decisions and we would be able to grieve. Absolutely the most professional and compassionate service. My husband and i have since made the decision to give our son the gift of not having to worry about making those decisions.Ramona just gave the options without pushing for us to purchase additional items that we didnt want and took the time to answer our questions. She made it easier to make these tough decisions. There are no words for the gratitude my family has for the care we received during the death of my dad. Thank you Garden Sanctuary.
