I was admitted recently with respiratory failure and heart failure. I am so Thankful to the ER staff ICU staff and 4th floor staff, I'm also thankful to GC EMS too. If not for the great care from all of them I would not be here to write this review. The staff was nothing but kind and caring and very attentive, they care for you like you're family. I have used this hospital for several reasons for years never had any problems Thank you Gateway Staff
Worst place to be. When I did an intake a nurse named Renee wanted to strip in a puddle of bloody urine. They barely had food and when we did it was cold or either non edible. The whole facility smelled like urine. They barely had soap. Tech Marquita was eating the patient's food then telling us we had no snacks. They need to close that facility. I never been to jail but if its like this facility I feel sorry for the mentally ill.
The hostility and lack of professionalism I have been met with while my family member is in the Older Adults unit of the Psychiatric branch is unbelievable. I work in the medical field myself so I know what I can and can't ask, as well as how to be kind to overworked medical staff. I called on three occasions, and could not believe how horrible they were to me. The only exception is Meghan RN. She was the only person who treated me with any kindness during this stressful time. She was wonderful, but every other person I spoke to brought me to tears in just a few minutes.
I'd give this spot 0 stars if I could. Treated me like I was hysterical and just anxious for coming in when I was literally sent by my doctors office because my symptoms warented me being seen in an ER. I was told by my drs office they could hear I was short of breath and they wanted to call an ambulance. I got them to agree to not if my partner came to get me instead immediately to the nearest er. Next time we know to go elsewhere.
It's older hospital but they took care of me. I could have died if they hadn't acted as fast and they did. I have been in serious pain in ower abdomen. I thought was just kidney stone. I went in five days after pain started. I didn't realize my appendix had burst. Within 3hrs I was in emergency surgery where they saved my life my removing the burst appendix and the infection that was all over.
The worst hospital in history. Roaches are bigger than staplers. Ceo, and administration are racist towards people of color. Favoritism is very bad there, the nurses are rude, certain kitchen staff is horrible. If I could rate a 0 I would.
DO NOT EVER allow your parent to go here. They took my mom from a NH due to Alzheimer's aggressiveness for a short stay. In 2 weeks she went from walking without a walker, talking, and communicating to a wheelchair, not being able to communicate, and on oxygen. If I had the power to shut this hell hole down, I would!!!
This place is a joke most of the staff are jokes the only ones that do their jobs are the CNAs there or whatever they call them only maybe two good nurses there they don't care about getting you the help you need the therapy is a joke only one good therapist and she only gets like 30 minutes with you while the other one gets an hour and hands you colored pencils and treats you like you're a bunch of 5 year olds stay clear of this place if you want treated with human decency I got treated better in jail the nurses are abusive and no one actually cares if you get the help you actually need also they don't send discharge papers to anyone like they are supposed to I signed papers gave them everything they needed to send them to center stone so I could try getting the help I needed they didn't do that
IF YOU ARE READING THIS... THIS IS YOUR OPPORTUNITY TO GO ELSEWHERE. I was seen in this er during my pregnancy because my doctors office was down the street. The er doctor cursed at me and caused a big scene threatened to put me out of the hospital and acted belligerent. I tried to explain that my doctor told me to come through the er to be admitted. The doctor sent in his nurse to draw blood but I wasn't there to be seen but to be sent upstairs to be admitted and was told a bed was ready for me. The nurse goes and tells the doctor I was being mean and denying care, I told her no to sticking me multiple times and I'm supposed to go upstairs. My arm was already bruised because I had to recieve iv's weekly for fluid. I'd rather wait until I was upstairs because I had to go up there anyways. I had to literally leave the hospital and call the doctor to get them to call the er and straighten out the situation. I've never been so disgusted. I called and reported him to the complaint department and can I tell you that she did not care at all. After all that it was his word against mine and she still didnt care. There was ZERO remorse for my treatment and it's so sad.
Terrible, terrible place for mental health issues. Just a quick heads up if you're going there for mental health issues and you genuinely want to heal... Expect a needle in the arm before you get a bed. I urge you, find a private therapist or psychiatrist before even contemplating going here.
