I knew that there would be changes in the office visit since Dr. Johnson retired. Thought I would be seeing Taryna Goodman but had been scheduled to see Julie Akins. Not only had I never met this FNP but she could find nothing in my records from my many years with Dr. Johnson to help her with my visit. I did not feel comfortable during the visit and when she began to tell me that people come in trying to teach the FNP that is wrong. At no time was I trying to teach her only trying to give her back ground information from over 30 years at this office. By this stage in my life I know my body and what works and what does not. I would like to be informed when appointments are made who I will be seeing and be given a choice. I will give the office more time to settle in and get to know the patients before making a decision whether to stay with this office or choose another Doctor.
Love this place! I was a patient of Dr. Johnson's for many years, but started seeing Taryna Goodman when she started with the office. Taryna is so caring and easy to talk to about absolutely anything. I have been to the office since it became Gem State Family Health Care, and I can assure you that the office is just as professional and caring as it was when Dr. Johnson was there. I wish Taryna and her staff much success!
To the above review: Our appointment staff is well versed in relaying to patients who is available for requested time/dates for appointments. If there was a misunderstanding, we apologize. As for medication, you requested more samples then our office could give so a new medication was offered, as was the coupon for cost. This was carefully explained. Julie spent over an hour with L.M. We are very sorry you feel you were underserved, but we did try our best. TGoodman
Saw this provider in mid-late Jan and again in Feb. Recieved 1st bill in late March. Did nor think this was odd as insurance sometimes takes a while to process. Attempted to call to make payment arrangements, no answer. They are apparently closed on Friday's. Called again, recording stated office was closed for a few weeks due to COVID. Following that i called back AGAIN at end of April when they were supposedly open. It was a Thursday around 1:30. Again i got a recording stating they are out of the office for the rest of the day. During this time, i recieved the bill again, this time with an added re-billing fee with a bright sticker stating to call the office immediately. That was when i called on a Thurs. When i finally got ahold of someone to set up payments, they refused to take off the re-billing fee because it had been too long! The gal on the phone treated me as if I was making this up..." Well we only closed early a couple times, we were only closed for 2 weeks for COVID. You could have just sent in like $100." No lady, i could not just send in $100. Which is why i wanted to TALK to someone about a payment plan!!! If it's this hard to reach my doctor's office about anything and when i did this is how I'm treated, i will certainly not be returning.
It is L Burton. It was a very friendly atmosphere and I felt very comfortable discussing anything with Taryna. I also loved her nurse and I'm sorry I can't remember her name.
