St Lukes Canyon View Behavioral Health Services
"Your mental health is important to your overall health, and sometimes inpatient treatment is needed in order to restore balance. Our programs address acute psychiatric issues, in addition to medical detoxification from alcohol and drugs. We use individual, family, and group counseling to address personal, family, emotional, psychiatric, behavioral, and addiction-related problems. The common goal of our programs is to help you find positive solutions to resolve the challenges or crisis in your life. Patients are typically accepted after referral from an emergency room encounter. Most medical insurance plans cover all or part of the cost of care. Financial arrangements are also available."

Would go - stars if I could. This place is just in it for the money. I was released from a mental hold by a ED state licensed doctor and the doctor here of course wouldn't release me and wanted me to stay two more days. Then when I told them my rights I was threatened and told I could be held another day but I didn't fall for it. On top of that they wouldn't give me a letter for my work from the ED, luckily I didn't need it. Also when I tried to leave while being cleared they even resorted to bribing ne to refill certain medications and then when I didn't stay canceled the ones they did. This has to he the most illegal operation from a mental health facility I have ever seen. I would rather go to hell then go back here. Although I am pretty sure they are the same place
This facility was really great - if you can say that about psych hospitalization. The nursing staff was very involved with patients. Other places I've been, they just pass out meds and ignore everyone. One nurse sat up with me for an hour in the middle of the night when I was super homesick. One helped me work through some DBT assignments to get through a rough time. They were always willing to talk. Super loved that they had a drinks machine that we could use any time during the day. The other hospital I'd been in required you to ask the staff to fill your mug with water and they always acted like it was the biggest annoyance in the world, sometimes actually refusing to do it. Facility was clean, well-equipped, and adequately staffed. The psychiatrist was weird, but everything else was perfect.
Was basically forced to go against my will. They took my autonomy away and treated me like a child. I paid $3000 a day to sit around and color. The staff was rude, there were no programs and almost no help. I suppose the food was good. The social workers and physicians were awesome. It was the technicians and the nurses who need a review on HIPPA and politeness to people who are in crisis. If you’re in twin falls, go to the proactive advantage crisis center. They’re a lot more compassionate and less focused on profit.
If I was able to leave a rating of less than 1 I would have but it will not let me. I feel this place is very unprofessional, do not do diligence to research the true problem behind the cause of a person coming to their facility and follow up with a family, medical, social history. To take someone off their psych meds and heart meds that came to your facility because they were suicidal and then discharge them to a crisis center instead of their family, just because they aren't a minor. Is borderline incompetent. Question your rational when the individual has no way to support themself, no identification, and is handicaped. Yet had a home and support system to return to.
Would NOT recommend this place. I had a friend who wanted and needed help. The security guard treated them as less then a human right off the bat. Then they were strip searched by someone of the opposite sex and then told their breakfast had been thrown out as they didn't get up in time. They had arrived the night before. The Doctor was great but the support staff needs a lesson on how to treat patients with respect. The patients here are in trouble, in a time of need, otherwise they would not be there. My friend left after only being there 1 day because of the way he was treated. We were hoping they could get some help here.....sad
I just got out a few days ago... in there for 6 days. What was my experience like?? It was Sooooooooo very good. If you come here you are dealing with real professionals who do their jobs well, and all you need to do is be as open, kind, willing and accepting to them as you possibly can be, even when things are so bad for you right now and positive behaviour is so hard right now, you'll receive SUCCESSFUL TREATMENT, 100% I PROMISE YOU!! ONE MILLION % For me personally I came in there voluntarily dealing with several mental health issues that I desperately needed to have treatment on. Without struggle I received the treatment I needed and it was as smooth as it possibly could be and I was genuinely taken care of.
The staff there are nice and they make you feel safe there and they are patient with you when you have a hard time and there group activities are fun as well and you can learn a lot of fun DBT skills and coping as well when you first walk in they put you in scrubs and sweatpants then they take you in and assign you a room then you get a paper telling you the schedule avoiding group activities are and breakfast lunch and dinner as well your there food is really great so on. And I got out today
I was very pleased with the staff when a family member was hospitalized with a crisis issue. I had one issue I hope St. Luke's can fix. My family member was sent home with a prescription but no physical meds and did not return home on the bus until after the pharmacy was closed. There is also no option at all for indigent meds to help the family member have meds until they could meet with their primary care doctor. It was quite a struggle for a few days after hospitalization until the appointment. Please fix this and I will delete this part of my review. Every hospital in Idaho has an option for at least 3 days of indigent meds for people with financial hardship. Thanks.
My son was admitted to this facility on 7-10 because of an extremely tramatic incidenceinvolving the sheriff officers was released on 7-14 there was zero improvement to his behaviors talked with meds doctor was told give the medicine a chance, which he had been on since 6-16 on 8-26 he was admitted again again very tramatic event involving officers he was released on 8-30 approximately 4:30 pm. Within 27 hours 8-31 7pm he has disappeared and have not been able to find or make any contact with him. This facility obviously is not successfully treating him. UPDATE We found him after 5 days he was in terrible shape mentally and physically. Took him to another facility who kept him for 30 days and found some medications that are working for him and he is doing SO MUCH better. Your review on yourselves of his care and finding that you did nothing wrong needs to be reviewed AGAIN
25 years ago my ex came to Twin Falls to assume position of director of nursing. 13 months later she left town screaming. Numerous administrative/ownership changes later. Little has changed. I spent brief time in 2016 there to detox from prescription meds, and was horrified at the inattentiveness of staff. What kind of behavioral facility has no full time psychiatrist? One which no DR wants to risk his reputation on. That’s who. In closing, a quote from my exes resignation letter to her then administrator: “This is the least therapeutic, most unsafe facility I have ever worked in”. Some things never change no matter how you rebrand them.
