I can’t say enough good things about the Geneva. The staff are always so welcoming. They truly go above and beyond to make sure the guests are comfortable and are having a good time. The rooms are clean and the views are great! The food is awesome as well. We always have such a good time down at the tiki bar and grill! Karaoke is always a lot of fun for the whole family! This has become our go to vacation spot! Katelyn Collins
10/10 Recommend! This place was a wonderful stop on our vacation. It was such a cute spot, decorated tiki style, great pricing. It felt like we found a local gem that more people should know about. It’s very close to the downtown area and state park. The staff was so kind and knowledgeable. Terry & Dixie made our stop extra special. Thank you!
We recently booked Geneva Hotel and Tiki bar in Lake Lure because it was the only place I could find that had a room that would accommodate four people. If you are looking for a comfortable bed and don’t expect a whole lot the beds were worth it they slept pretty good. We were attending a high school reunion and it was tough finding a place close by because it is the leafers season. The manager of the hotel was very nice and he and the lady working with him were having a bad day because most of their help did not show up to clean rooms. One person to get rooms ready was not a good thing. My sister arrived first and she did some cleaning of the bathroom. The bathroom was nice it had recently been updated. Only complaint was nowhere to hang your clothes to put on after shower. We had a back door to our room and it had a 1 inch gap at the bottom so we stuffed a black garbage bag under the door to keep the cold air out. The back of the door had wasted away and they had not had it repaired yet. This motel is a work in progress at updating. It is lacking in usable places to plug in your devices. Bring a surge bar for enough plugs. It is pet friendly which I loved. Coffee was available in the office. We felt it was over priced but I suppose we are helping pay for the renovations. Our room was nice and warm from a new space heater that the rooms are heated with. The blinds in the window were too large so if a peeping person could look into our room as there are no drapes. Also some of the plastic strips were broken. I would also recommend placing a fire extinguisher in each room. All in all I enjoyed the town and the scenery. I would book again but my Brother-in-law said he would give it a minus 5.
We were after a quick trip to the area for the blueridge and the fall color change. Fantastic area hotel well situated on the road with good signage. Front doesn't seem much the party is in the back with gorgeous views of the water and rock sides. For a nice room with TV, fridge ,microwave and many fun things to do not just in the surrounding areas. Sit by the fire play games , enjoy good food and drink after driving the byways of this beautiful part of the country. If I had any complaints it would be the bartenders need to know when to cut people off and definitely better mattress Rooms: Rooms are on the small side but clean and overall a nice room. The beds however are not very comfortable Nearby activities: Plenty of activities in the nearby town or down by the docks. Food & drinks: Had cheeseburgers fries and onion rings. Really good well made food. Drinks were very good as well.
Great staff and our trip was very enjoyable. Bed was comfy and I didn't wake up with back pain. Terry was very welcoming and friendly. We were late checking in after hours, but Terry was there to greet us as soon as we arrived. Very accommodating and we will be visiting again soon! The room appeared to have been renovated recently. Close to town and I definitely recommend for anyone visiting the area.
We didn't stay at the hotel, we stayed at Chimney Rock Inn across the street, but we heard really good karaoke yes, it was actually good karaoke so we made our way across the street and had a lovely Sunday afternoon, eating burgers, drinking beer and listening to live music. I probably had too much beer, because the bartender, Nichole, was stunningly beautiful and really sweet. Great little place to lose yourself on a Sunday afternoon. I highly recommend stopping by this quaint little get away.
Getaway to here. Perfect area by river, see Chimney Rock from river. Short drive to town, Chimney Rock and Flower Bridge which has spectacular Christmas lights and theme. Definitely will return. New owners were very nice and informative. Thanks to the staff. Well done visit.Rooms: 5/5
The only time the service is bad is when the manager is there that is so unprofessional. Every other single staff person that works there the waitresses the bartenders are awesome she is the only person that is not only rude but lazy. That's very sad that she's the manager and she's supposed to be the captain of the ship and she's not leading by example she's lazy and will literally stay seated the majority of the time unless she's standing up talking to somebody and watch the other staff run around and struggle to provide good service in a timely manner because they're so busy and she does not help. Everybody else there is wonderful Tiki Bar you guys need a new manager!
If it was possible I would give this place 0 stars. I hate this place. I have been coming here for years and since Maureen has been running it is has gone so downhill. The food is absolutely disgusting unless you’re ordering wings. I’ve witnessed Maureen yell at customers and their children. The other night I was out by the bonfire and watched Maureen have to get carried out of the bar for being so drunk. Who would want their family around that? Not me. They had this amazing bartender Dixie who is the best bartender I have ever had. All I hear is great things about her. I love her and she makes everyone feel so great. I have witnessed her work everyday for weeks. She’s there everytime I go and she is just perfect. The other day she was fired for no reason. Maureen thinks everything is a competition and couldn’t stand that Dixie was good and so she fired her because she could. My friends and family will not come back here as long as Dixie is not employed here. And until Maureen is gone we will not come anywhere near the tiki bar. She should be ashamed of the way she treats her staff and customers. This place would be so much better without her. It’s just sinking into the ground as of now.
My first time visiting and I was ready to go again the next day. It was a nice ride there from TN. Our server was attentive and took care of everyone quickly although they were very busy. Karaoke was going on during our visit which was entertaining. The view by the creek was beautiful. The whole area is absolutely stunning! This is a perfect get-away for a group of friends or with that special someone. It's also an awesome destination for a motorcycle ride. Go visit Chimney Rock/Lake Lure and stop by the Tiki Bar for excellent adult beverages and food!
