Giant

Giant has always been my go-to grocery store in my hometown Phoenixville. But recently I have been a little disappointed in their selection. As this Giant seems on the decline the ACME on the other side of town seems to be improving. Also, what is with that security announcement in the parking lot? How annoying is that?

Me and my family have been shopping at this location for over 10 years. 2 weeks ago I reported to the GM that the deli cut my meat with plastic wrapper so Essentially I had plastic in my lunch meats and cheeses. They replaced it and apologized. Today I was in the store early this morning to buy hair dye for my daughter. I bought the wrong one apparently, Went back an hour or so later to exchange for the right color. I had my daughter in the stroller and my 16-year-old walking beside me. My giant bag with the receipt was at the bottom of the stroller, visible! I walk through self check out line right in front of customer service to get to customer service to exchange. The GM Follow me up to the customer service desk and loudly said in front of everybody “ ma’am are you gonna pay for those items!” I was mortified I said I’m exchanging them. He said oh OK walked away and smirked. Never apologize for trying to call me a thief. I even tried to call him on the phone after I left and he was still confrontational. I will never ever shop at the store ever again! How embarrassing! Shame on him for his unprofessional behavior. A simple “I’m sorry ma’am didn’t realize you were going to customer service, have a good day” wouldn’t been appropriate and appreciated.

I like Giant as a brand, however this store has some real issues with employees that are apparently ignored by management. I was going to chalk it up as a bad day and just ignore the rude behavior, but this is my neighborhood store and it’s something that can be fixed. I am only writing this review now because it is a perpetual problem that has happened every time I shop at night here. The gentleman that works in the self checkout side pharmacy side is extremely rude. God forbid you have an issue while checking out. I had maybe 6 items at most and one was on sale that wasn’t ringing up. It was like I was asking him to donate a kidney getting help. The looked at me and said “really” and it went downhill from there. If they don’t want to interact with customers they should be doing a different job

Went to the one on phoenixville and the customer service I received from the customer service attendant was horrible. I was craving some okra . I got to the store and only two was left and both had white slime stuff all over them and one looked better then the other. I picked up the Better looking one went to the check out and asked the cashier if he could get someone or the produce attendant or so to see if there was one in the back. He seemed confused not sure what to do he called the customer service attendant for help and before she came he goes we probably do don’t have any at the back. I say so one one is even gonna bother checking? Just to make sure? He said nothing. The customer service attendant come over as says the-same thing there’s none in the back. I said to her can’t you check 1st she goes no I’m like so your not gonna bother checking if there was any just to make sure? She said no and walked away. I was completely shocked by that response paid for my stuffs and on my way out I finally saw the produce attendant I asked him he just checked the same place I had checked earlier and brought the horrible looking okra I said no that’s not good that’s completely spoiled he goes well that’s the last one we don’t have any. I nodded and left the store. This experience would be me not going back to Gaint again.

BEWARE no cashiers at all! 99% self checkout,I will avoid this store at all costs with my $200/ week order. I am not a trained cashier, no help available when produce doesn't scan or an item trips self check line. Taking all of my family's business elsewhere that actually employs cashiers. Cut jobs but raised prices.

Generally good selection, but the service in there is pretty bad so trying to add coupons and items to the cart in your app for deals is a pain. Otherwise great employees great service great shopping

Nice well stocked grocery store. Roomy isles and well organized. Has beer and wine available. Descent selection of Mexican and Central American foods too. Lots of self checkout stations but also cashiers. Some good deals, especially if you use your loyalty points.

Had the best service from gal in deli today 3/20 a little after 2pm. She explained difference in meat/ price, offered custom slice thickness...and so friendly. I asked her name but forgot already! Maybe Bella?

Huge place. Many selections of any given items. Came here for 6 pieces of battery, they have a whole wall of all different brands and packages. Being a huge place, it took us awhile to find windshield washer, probably need a indoor gps. Staff cashier we met is extra friendly. Overall a good shopping experience.

This Giant Food Stores location consistently provides excellent service with their Giant Direct pickup food service. Most of the time I am able to get what I need, which means this store is managed well, which keeps the items I need in stock.
