Great Train Station for Railfanning, great scenery and a big station.
The attendant, her name is Laura, is by far the most rude and unprofessional person I’ve ever dealt with. I am visiting the area for the first time, I go up the window to ask her some questions about the times and the tickets. She rolled her eyes and blew a deep sigh, as if I was inconveniencing her. She didn’t answer my questions, sold me the tickets but tossed them on to the counter and walked away before I could even ask her which side of the station to pick up the train. Because of these poor customer service practices, citizens and tourist have opted to use ride share services. Next time Metra leadership wonders why their customer use percentage has decreased, look at these comments.
Trains from Glen Ellyn to Chicago on weekdays are habitually late.
There is a great coffee shop, Next Stop Coffee Shop, in the Metra station. The owner sells his own honey and lip balms in addition to an assortment of snacks and coffee, including Metropolis coffee.
If you are an occasional user, be prepared to walk at least a mile from parking lot to the ticket window. Oh btw, they still have ild system. Where you pay cash only and shove money in the slots.
This is a really good spot for Railfanning aka Trainspotting I come A LOT to this spot and love Trainspotting here!! There’s never a day or hour where there’s no action
I sometimes come here to do railfanning aka trainspotting
Train did stop at the station, would recommend if you need to catch one.
Nice village with attractive homes and a quaint downtown.
It's just a train station. Nothing particularly good or bad about it.
