Connie in Colorado Springs says:

Golden Eagle Ranch RV Park-Campgrounds in Colorado Springs, CO is our family favorite! For a reasonable fee we can have full hook-ups. Full-service restrooms/showers (at no extra fee). Laundromat available. Free WIFI hot-spot. Campfire pit. Fishing (on site permit req'd/nominal fee). Hiking. Playground. Friendly neighbors. Beautiful views. Shade. Sun.
We never have trouble finding a suitable site, I don't think there is an undesirable spot on the whole grounds. We love to have a grassy area and trees around us. We don't care for the RV parks that just look like a big parking lot... this is much more family friendly and truly an attractive "camp" ground.

It's a short drive from our home but we feel like we're in a whole other world. It's peaceful and feels like the country without being far from actual civilization. There is a full service grocery store only 10 minutes away! Yet we are never bothered by the sounds/sites of traffic. We haven't used it but there is a large pavilion and gathering area that can easily accommodate a family reunion or other group get-togethers too.

The May Natural History Museum is at the Welcome Center for the Campgrounds. The owners are incredibly friendly and attentive but never intrusive. You can have all the privacy you desire without sacrificing comfort/service.

We've been camping around Colorado for roughly a week, and Golden Eagle Campground has been our favorite stop! The employees were all very friendly and the campground was beautiful. It was secluded from the main roads. They had beautiful trails on-site and a separate area to walk your pets. There is a museum on-site as well, however we did not have a chance to go through it. There is a stock fishing pond that you can fish at without a Colorado fishing license for $10. Our camping spot was 486 and it was very private and nice; there were trees and bushes that lined both sides of our campsite. They also have firewood that you can purchase on-site.
Great rustic campground away from all of the city craziness. Owners are the sweetest people. Staff works hard to keep everyone comfortable and happy. Everyone friendly and little hellos as you walk the park. Excellent exercise as park is in the base of the mountain and on a slope. 2 trails and a pet walk for exercise. AMAAAZING views up the mountain and looking way over the top of Carson. No road noise and military noise in AM/PM is quiet. Playground: Playground for the kids is a dirt base with swings & big tires to walk on. Large grassy area for kick ball or tag. There is also a volleyball net and equipment can be borrowed from the office. Restrooms: Bathrooms are older, but spacious & cleaned 3 times daily. Open doors, so expect a few natural insects. Dog-friendliness: 3 dogs allowed per campsite. Must be leashed, mindful, no barking, & cleaned up after. Picnic area: Picnic areas down by the office! Park gazebos are currently out of order.
The campground is clean, quiet, and we’ll maintained. There really aren’t any activities but if you’re looking for a place to relax outdoors this is a great spot. What really sees the place apart is the staff. I’ve never camped anywhere with a more friendly, courteous, and helpful staff. These folks are great and make the stay better.
Well I rate a 5 star, look at it this way, 1 person mentioned Walmart parking lot would be a better place?? Really? It's a campground, we visited the site first, determined it was great for 2mths before moving out of state, Katie and the rest of staff are friendly, we checked out everything! Then said sweet.. yes mosquitoes are bad, but like one lady mentioned, not parks fault.. if you all want a luxury campground, keep the negative remarks, go to Jelleystone campground in Larksburg Colo. If you want the luxury, there you go, spend your luxury money there, some people can't do that, enjoy!! I'm picky with places, this one is great! It's a campground people not a luxury yacht!
This is a great campground in a perfect location, near the Springs and all of it's amenities but far enough away from it all too. Plenty of hiking trails and dogs are welcome. We stayed there about two years ago for a month when we first moved from NC to CO and we really liked the area and the owners so much so that when our son needed a place to park the RV for a four month period while he attends Police Academy we didn't hesitate to get him set up down there. Carrie is the owner and she will take good care of you while you are there!
Absolutely the best place!! Stayed 2 weeks in tent site. Had a blast. The host keep everything so clean and well maintained. The bathrooms are by far the cleanest I have seen at a site. They drive around and deliver wood and many other things as well. The views are breath taking!! If u get a chance check this place out!!! Wish we could stay longer. Dang Colorado laws
Love this place! Not the nicest camp ground but this place is always fun. This makes a great weekend getaway for family’s looking for a simple camping trip. The park is clean and the staff is very nice. They drive around selling wood so no need to bring your own. They have a small lake for fishing along with some small trails. The museum is also cool. My kids thought it was a fun to see all the different bugs. The bathrooms are always clean and the showers are always hot. I will camp at this place at least once every year. If you have rv, trailer, tent or pop up give this place a try.
I LOVE this campground! Every time I am in town I make it a point to come see Christina at Golden Eagle Campground. The staff is always very helpful getting me a site reserved by phone and they also allow schoolies and older rvs They have a cool museum and give you an exciting information packet that includes a historical journey into the May family Ill save the adventure for you to explore - no spoiler alert! they also included a free post card in my packet with the most beautiful butterflies and moth from Madagascar -which I fully intend to drop in the mail and race back to Missouri when I head back. They also include a magazine with information on all types of fun activities to explore and enjoy in the area! Great views, clean facilities, nice people, electric and water at tent sites! Tons of nature and bird sounds to enjoy.
Though a little noisy with the air base close, and the highway it was still a cute little easy to find and affordable campground, and the staffThe May Family was very friendly and gave me the perfect spot for my camping needs. If I am ever in the area again I will definitely be staying here. They are also dog friendly with a good sized dog walk area.
I could not wait to do a review of this campsite. First like most we checked the reviews. After seeing some about the bad roads, low maintenance, and hookups being on opposite sides. Needless to say I was biting my nails. However let me tell you a brief story of our experience. Friendly staff friendly campers clean areas spacious spots mosquitos bring some OFF our hookups were on the same side. Easy leveling and easy hookup. Spacious spot and privacy. We were met by two of the most friendliest gals. Who brought us wood and one even brought me a lighter of her very own to keep. If you don’t like nature. You will not like this place. The view amazing. The natural grounds just like it should be for camping. Some areas of the road have some bumps, but nothing you cannot overcome if you drive the speed limit and just be cautious . We will definitely be back. !!!! My boyfriend Scott Farrell made this reservation for our family and I am so thankful. We all had a great time. I recommend this hidden gem. Thank you GoldenEagle.
