GPATS (Greenville-Pickens Area Transportation Study) evaluates transportation priorities & alternatives to influence how funding is used on local projects.
The Greenville-Pickens Area Transportation Study (GPATS) is a Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO), the federally-mandated regional entity that 1) programs the use of all State and Federal funding for multi-modal transportation projects, 2) works closely with SCDOT and other State and Federal Agencies on transportation projects, 3) objectively evaluates priorities and alternatives, and 4) engages and informs the public on projects and planning efforts. GPATS serves the Urbanized Areas of Greenville and Pickens Counties along with parts of Anderson, Spartanburg, and Laurens Counties, as well as 16 municipalities.
