Great instruction and course structure. Head Instructor, Mike Everett provides a safe and friendly environment for women, men and children. Learning from instructor Chris Saunders one of the original dirty dozen is like having a direct line to Grand Master Helio Gracie. One of the biggest surprises when I first started: I was not expecting to make so many new friends!
Great school in my opinion. They actually have curriculum for the jiu-jitsu training. I’m doing Combatives program and I enjoy every training session. The combination of great instructors, individual attention if needed and attention to details in technique really make this school a very good place to train martial art of jiu-jitsu. Very professional but friendly in the same time. My instructors are Mike black belt, Alex brown belt and Dave purple belt - they have very good communication skills, explain well and always there to help students to learn and grow. Highly recommend this jiu-jitsu school for everyone regardless of skill level and age!!!
I’ve been bringing my son 5yrs for the last 6 months and he loves it. The BullyProof program is awesome! Clean facility and great Instructors.
I've been going since December 2018 until now. Immigration life in the United States was very difficult, but I overcame my daily life with good training partners and great instructors.
My partner and I had a great time with the Jiujitsu part. Though we did have something valuable stolen in the locker room and the front desk said she’d help look though the tape when we brought it up but we never heard anything afterwards and she never brought it up again. We also had to miss some classes because one of us got Covid and we asked her if we can make up the class in the next month since there were no explicit policies on Covid. She said to just come in and it’ll be alright, so we took her word and we came in extra trying to make up for our missed classes. Afterwards she charged us for the class. We enjoyed learning jiu jitsu but did not have a great experience overall. Beware, when signing up we were not given any contracts, so a bit unclear what you’re signing up for.
I stopped in while traveling and had the opportunity to take a private lesson with Professor Chris Saunders, one of the "Dirty Dozen" the twelve first non-Brazilian BJJ black Belts, and an excellent instructor who has a black belt so worn, that it's nearly white! In my 30 minute private, he was able to give me great tips that most schools would not be able to provide in an hour of instruction. Humble, succinct and a great guy, he quickly spotted holes in my game and patched them. The support staff was also extremely helpful. Highly recommended.
My son likes his 5-7 year old class. He likes the dodge ball. They teach a little bit of technique, but it is mostly play based learning. 4x a month is too little IMO to learn Jiu-Jitsu, but that's the subscription we are on. Location is good for us. There are other places that you'll get more classes out of for $150, but it sometimes what fits your schedule. Nice instructors. They control the class well most of the time. Front desk is friendly too. PARKING If you're taking 4-5p class, Reeves is 2 hours free parking. 5p-6p class, try Gregory and you might find a metered spot and it is free after 6pm. Otherwise, I've had to park elsewhere and walk 15 minutes. -1 star for bad web site and I can't find the schedule on the web site. I asked them to fix it, but front desk can't seem to forward it to the right people.
I had been training for a little under a year and still in combatives when I had the opportunity to visit the Beverly Hills Academy. I was greeted by a super friendly staff and had the fortunate opportunity to train with master Ryron. It was amazing. There were only four other people in the class so I got a lot of personal attention. It was an inspiring and memorable event. I can't thank these guys enough for what they have contributed to my life. Because of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, I have stayed clean and alcohol-free for a year!
I train jiu-jitsu in Chicago and I flew in to attend the Metamoris tournament. Since I was staying with a friend in West Hollywood, I thought it'd be nice to drop by the Gracie Academy in Beverly Hills. I was a little nervous going in because I had never trained with a Gracie before but all my tensions were put at ease when I saw how welcoming and helpful everybody there was, from the instructors to the regular students to the front desk staff. I really felt welcomed with open arms. Ryron Gracie, who was the professor for the day, eased the tension with the class by Keeping it Playful in an interactive, fun, and intellectually stimulating class. The atmosphere was incredibly friendly and I felt like I was amongst friends that I had been training with for years given how easily it was to click with the other students. The facility is truly first-rate and the locker room reminded me more of a health spa than a jiujitsu school. Additionally, they had a fridge stocked with health drinks and coconut water for sale, a detail that I wish other schools would follow suit on. I have no doubt that if I lived in Los Angeles, this would be my home academy. I look forward to the next time I fly in to L.A. so that I may have the privilege to attend another class. Whether you live in the area or you're from out of town, I would highly recommend dropping by for a class, I promise that you won't be disappointed.
This facility is clean and well maintained. The instruction was structured and principle based. The vibe was chill and cooperative. The head instructor Mike and his assistants Ben and Alex were helpful and cool. 10/10 would recommend.
