Custom made chalk based paint comparable to store brand chalk paint but better prices & results.
Hello and welcome to my world of furniture design and restoration. After painting over 350 pieces I decided to help you create your own masterpieces. And here is how we can do that:
This paint can be used on wood, metal, glass, concrete, cork & just about anything. Select your project, and make sure it is clean. I use our own special degreaser to clean my items. If you are doing a very old piece made of wood, wash it really good so you do not get a bleed thru on your painted piece. Make sure it has plenty of time to dry. Shake the jar really well, open, stir, pour a small amount, (I use a foam plate) and paint!
No prep work required. Keep in mind if your piece is scratched or peeling, then yes you need to make sure it is in painting condition. This paint is good but it can’t preform miracles. Use a brush making sure you knock out loose hairs and a small foam roller. I use a brush to cut in and a foam roller to do everything else. If you like brush lines then use a brush to paint. Paint first coat, it dries fast, so let it dry, paint second coat, let dry completely and lightly sand if you choose. Some like the finish without sanding, some want a smoother finish so therefore lightly sanding smooths out the paint. Apply topcoat or sealer if you choose. I do not do anything to a lot of my pieces, it does not require sealing but when I do I wait overnight before sealing or putting on a topcoat. You do not have to do either, it depends on the piece. If i am doing a dining room table I apply a polycrylic to protect the surface. If I want it to be shiny I apply a wax. I prefer the matte finish on most pieces so therefore I do not do either. Remember to wipe the lid of the paint so it seals tightly after opening. There are several sealers available, I sell my homemade wax made of beeswax, paraffin and fresh lemons. And remember wax on wax off. Work in small areas so the wax does not dry, a really small amount of wax goes a long way. I also use General Finishes rub in poly and Minwax polycrylic. I can also help you decide on the finish depending on the piece.
There are all sorts of things you can do to your masterpiece after you get familiar with the process. I say start with something small but with telling you that, my first project after taking a class was my kitchen cabinets! And by the way they turned out amazing! I have specialty topcoats, black ice is a topcoat for dark paint due to the black fine glitter I add to the product, and crystal can be applied to all colors, due to the fine silver glitter added to crystal topcoat. I also have a pearl finish that gives a mother of pearl look to your piece. I have 5 dusting powders to enhance your masterpiece, they are gold dust, silver sky, bedazzled blue, roman copper and white diamonds. They are a dust that can be applied to wax to change the color of the wax or can be applied directly to your finished dry piece. They are stunning colors that cast a glow you will be amazed at.
Have fun and remember, enjoy life, ONE COLOR AT A TIME.
