Really cute library with very nice kids section, with toys and games and lots of books. I didn't see a restroom with a diaper changing station. That would be a nice addition. The garden in back is gorgeous!! Such a nice place to sit and read and listen to birds. There are only 5 parking spaces back there but thankfully both times I came there was available space.
Very nice place to visit. Modern and comfortable. Employees were extremely helpful and polite. My favorite favorite part of the library is the beautiful little sitting area behind it. 3 picnic tables and a bench all perfectly placed by a creek with a stone foot bridge. How could you not want to steal away with a good book and lose an hour or two?
Good place to get wifi, friendly library staff. The ladies at the front are very helpful. Very accommodating to people who live out of town.
I take my 4 kiddos to the library every week to every other week and it is always a pleasant experience. The librarians are so kind to me and the kids and are always willing to help out. We always look forward to our visits and my second little one is working hard to write his name small enough so he can get his very own card!
My wife went in and I waited in the car but every time I have been in there it been really helpful and they got a lot of neet books.
Very friendly , helpful and knowledgeable staff. Good selection of books too!
Kids section is limited and has no manipulatives. Head Librarian Erin is atrociously rude. There is a gentleman staff there that is polite. Their policies on book count for “non” residents is unequivocally outdated. Even though I provided the information exactly as they asked- letter from residence and place of residency that are both within Greene County, they still denied full privileges of book services. I initiated contact with the BOD as Erin surely would not offer any solutions or provide additional resources. In speaking with the Board of Directors, at least one lady is attempting to do research and make changes to update their outdated policies however there has still be no resolution to our book count even though it has been over 3 weeks and as stated I have provided all information requested. Not even a temporary grant of privileges as all other libraries I have been to have offered. I homeschool 3 children and use the library to provide supporting materials for their school. 6 books our allotted amount between 2 library cards is hardly enough resources for 3 children. If you take time to speak to my children it is clear they have a strong homeschool education. My 5 yr old is working at a 1st grade level and is an independent reader. The librarians of course do not actually engage with children, they stay behind their desk so they wouldn’t actually be able to get to know their young patrons. Unfortunately my daughter now hates this library as every time we go there seems to be complications that arise to our account AFTER we have picked our books and put them on the counter. This of course leads to one very sad 5 year old for which I have to try and explain their behavior, since as said before, they don’t talk to children. She also complains about their book selection.
Always a great time spent at the local library here in town.
Small library. Not much of a kids area at all. Kids computers didn't work properly. One of the staff members shushed my 2 year old daughter right in front of me. She was not being loud. Basically nothing for kids to do. Sucks that this is the only Library in town. This Library has the ability to be so much better but they do not utilize the property well. I'd rather drive 35 mins to Johnson City library.
A charming, quaint country, library. Has a beautiful stone bridge over a brook with picnic tables. The library has preserved its unique antique qualities where many seem to ruin it by modernization.
