GroundWorks, University of Michigan, Ann Arbor
GroundWorks, a service of the Digital Media Commons, is a facility supporting the production, conversion, and editing of digital and analog media. High-end Macintosh and Windows computers equipped with CD/DVD drives, document scanners, slide scanners, slide film exposers, and video & audio equipment are available on a walk-in, self-serve basis. Large format color printing is also available for a fee (see below).
Consultants are available to assist you with any questions during the following hours:
Monday - Thursday, 9:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m.
Friday, 9:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
Sunday, Noon - 6:00 p.m.
The GroundWorks lab is accessible any time the Duderstadt Center is open (24/7 during the school year, 7:00 a.m. - midnight during the summer).
Poster printing is available weekdays from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The cost is $11 per linear foot (the only service we charge for - everything else is available free!) and is payable by credit card or University short code.
DMC Orientation is available weekdays at 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. Taking the orientation gives you access to the V-Room, a soundproof digital recording booth, and the Multimedia Workrooms, equipped with a high-end video editing setup.
The Duderstadt Checkout service is available to students who need cameras and other production equipment for class projects. Email [email protected] for more information on being approved for Checkout.
