This is one of the few good local non-chain places to stop between Cincinnati and Pittsburgh. I have stopped here a handful of times in the past few years. But, every time I stop, the choices of food or its quality seems to worsen. Don’t get me wrong: the food is well prepared and there are lots of options on the menu, just not ones that I personally favor. They have standard fare, but the restaurant is not really located in an area that demands food with too much flair.
I've been here half a dozen times. They make tasty sandwiches and fries, but the healthy/vegetarian options are still a while from greatness. Cambridge Ohio isn't known for healthy choices, so they are still the best option for me when dining out. The Earth Plate is tasty, I think it just needs a bit more, less dip volume, more dippable veg. The roasted vegetable side is tiny, I would want 2x the amount provided when I'm swapping it for the massive side of fries. The stuffed grape leaves were the worst I have ever had, I don't know if it was an off day or bad recipe. Keep trying guys!
Wonderful small restaurant. Amazing food at a very reasonable price. Staff was very friendly. Love this restaurant.
Order Baja Wrap & mixed veggies . Worst food I've ever ate ! Veggies mushy & yet burnt . Wrap tasted like eggs but there were no eggs in it . Took 2 bites of the wrap to make sure I was actually tasting egg .
Used to love this place, but they've made a lot of changes. No more table service, burgers are gone, and the kid's menu has three items. My once-favorite chicken fiesta salad came out with rubbery under cooked chicken... Twice. Our best guess is that they are microwaving it. We got refills only after going to the counter to ask, despite being the only customers in the place at noon on a Sunday. Not sure we'll be back.
What happened to the menu? Used to have good burgers and steak. Now it's an order at the counter deli. Small space to order and only one staff out front. Complete fast food feel. Soup was served in a to go container. Only condiment in a basket on the table was vinegar. We were asked if we wanted to pay now or when we were done. As a customer, a very confusing question. We were ordering drinks and hadn't had time to look at the menu yet. Had to order drinks at the counter and then go back to counter to order food. Had to wait each time as staff was busy with other chores. Sandwich tasted great, but was skimpy and overpriced for the portion, including undercooked fries. Very surprised at the small sandwich size compared to past experience. We took out of towners there for table service and apparently an old menu that no longer exists.
The bacon egg and cheese breakfast bagel was excellent. The place was very clean and nicely decorated. Must have caught the girl working that morning on a bad day. I don't like the feeling I am bothering somebody when I ordered but that's how I felt. I requested a water to drink that she never brought. She also said she would bring me my change and never did but it was only 20 some cents, lol. I was the only person there on July 29th. Customer service is really big with me especially when I'm the only patron. I will return, everyone deserves a second chance. BTW, that was my first time there. Peace out.
NOT SURE WHY THEY MADE CHANGES. This used to be one of our favorite spots for Sunday lunch. We stopped in today to find that you now have to go to the counter to place your order, pay and tip before you get your food, go to the counter and ask for refills on drinks and they have changed the menu. A good burger was our primary reason for going and they no longer serve them--not even a basic burger. My daughter asked to have new chicken for her salad which was previously her favorite dish and the second batch of chicken was as rubbery as the first. We are guessing they must now microwave it. The sub sandwich we ordered was mostly bread and little cheese or meat. The only half-way positive comment made by any of us 6 was that the fries were "OK but not as good as the old kind." We won't be back. There was nothing left of what we loved about Guernsey Kitchen.
Great little store next door to shop in when you are done eating. Garden burger was great! Hummus was also good with pita bread and fresh veggies. Restaurant allowed us to run nextdoor to select from all of their craft beers!!
Dang steak tasted like liver. The fried veggies were cooked in old grease. Waiter was rude, and my seat was falling apart. Go across the road to Theo's it's much better. Don't waste your money. I don't see how anyone could rate higher than one star. Must be relatives and friends.
