We had a nice meal here stopping through off I-70. Plenty of space and friendly service, with great views of the river. We had lunch but there was a nice bar if one wanted a happy hour. Indoor and outdoor seating, and a quick jaunt to the old national toll road bridge, from which you can see the balcony seating. You’ve got to try the avocado fries - and for those so inclined, save the aioli dipping sauce to spread on the veggie/vegan burger, which is good but comes plain. Kids menu too, where the little one had a good grilled cheese. Nice find, and you might not know it from the plain exterior! Simple and understated, yet solid and aiming to please.
So, I found this gem of restaurant. It is locally owned, and they work really hard, and they can cook. I have this pork chops glazes and peaches on top. red skin smash potatoes and coleslaw. everything was great. they told me they just recently open since a lot of work road has been done. I hope you guys give it a try because they have something really good. amazing deck with a stunning view to the river, patio heaters and good wine and also cold beer for $2.50, I don't know for how long. the food took about 20 minutes to come to my table, but it is not fast food remember that. I will definitely come back. Parking: easy way to park which it is so nice in this area
Despite some not so great reviews, my wife and I decided to check out River's Edge. Food was delicious and the views were beautiful! Service was quick and everyone was friendly. They even decorated in December with Christmas trees from local growers which looked beautiful! Overall great experience!
Visited on a Friday evening and got seated with no wait, kind of a red flag because other restaurants were packed. Service was great, atmosphere nice. Entertainment was annoying and food was lackluster. This place just isn't on par with others in the area, and would not return.
The service was only surpassed by the food. It’s so uncommon to go to a restaurant and have every employee truly appreciate that you are there. The food could not have been better. Exceptional!!!
Went there Saturday evening with my family. Waitress very pleasant. 2 ordered wedge salads. One was so small that a Wendys side salad would have been larger. Mine was stuffed fish which wasn't stuffed and the sauce that was supposed to be on it was missing so it was very dry. Lobster mac and cheese had so much cheese that only a quarter of the dish could be eaten. One other dish appeared to have an ingredient missing. Won't be going back. Food quality was poor.
Before leaving Huntington West Virginia I emailed with and spoke to the manager of this restaurant about working as a server. I emailed her my resume. I moved to Wheeling and was hired at the this Rivers Edge. The lady didn’t tell me they had no customers. I got the impression that I would wind up as a kitchen aid there. I wanted to be a Server and work with the public. I had previously worked as a host. And was good at it. One night a table of 4 suddenly became a table of 12 and I was excited thinking I was going to make money. But the staff all swarmed the table one server even took over the checks. One back of the house staff was very aggressive blocking my path as I was trying to walk. He also got loud shouting something that sounded like the German language. Two of the servers were verbally abusive. I quit.
Took my family in for dinner Saturday night and I wasn’t too pleased. Crab cakes were burnt and my husbands fish was dry. Nothing really on the dinner menu for kids and we were told the cook said they couldn’t order from the lunch menu. The manager apologized and offered us a discount, drink and dessert but we just wanted to leave cause my girls were hungry. . Great location so it’s a real shame. Waitress was nice though.
We were a little wary given some recent bad reviews, but decided to give it a try. Went on Saturday for dinner and sat on the outdoor deck. It is pretty clear they are short staffed, but who isn't these days? The staff that was there was super nice and the food was excellent and came out in good time. Will definitely eat here again.
Seems like a nice place to relax with drinks, but definitely eat before you go. Food was absolutely terrible. Crab cakes were undercooked, completely raw and gummy on the inside. Pork chop was undercooked, pink and bloody near bone. Unseasoned mashed potatoes. Extremely salty lobster bisque. The bathrooms were gross!!!! Plates are $15-30 and the bathrooms are worse quality than McDonald's.
