Mission

"The purpose of the work in psychology is to guide the student to an understanding of the fundamental characteristics of human behavior, to help the student apply the knowledge of these laws of behavior in solving problems of personal adjustment to the environment in which [s]he lives, to meet the ever increasing demand for leaders who have psychological training, and to interpret education in terms of integrated personalities" (1947-48 Guilford College Catalog).
