Not going to write an essay. Going to get to the point. Outrage regarding the unprofessional medical staff at Harlem hospital is what was felt. My loved one walked in with profuse bleeding from an injury on his job. I came to support him and saw he was in distress. The only three people that were very kind professionals were the little sweet elderly Filipino medical reception staff, an upper middle aged black nurse in the back of triage, and a middle aged white PA in fast track. Disappointed that most of the poor patient care came from triage. The experience was stressful and sad. Training needs to be done on caring for patients from the beginning to the end of a visit. The tone in how one speaks to the patient and their loved ones matter. Harlem deserves better people service and more caring professionals we are people and we deserve quality care.
I was born at this hospital and I will say this they will have you running back and forth waiting for appointments. They don’t tell me what’s really going on with me I got to go to another hospital to get checked out because here they seem so busy . All over the place they try to get you in and out . I asked to get a sonogram because I was having pain in my stomach n they had me do a xray scan and dismissed me . Prescribed me pills for something I possibly don’t even have . Communication skills is very much needed to be worked on there . Horrible .
Went here for emergency tooth pain and I have to say thank you so much to Dr. Hardy, Ms. Blackett, Ms. Simmons, ladies at the front desk, and the lady whom so kindly let me know when I would be seen ....just to name a few. I understand it's a process to to be able to help so many people. I had no other choice but to bring my kid with me and they were phenomenal. The level of care was great give this hospital credit because let's be honest a lot of other hospitals, offices and clinics aren't caring at all and it shows. Very professional place from top to bottom. Tooth pain isn't a joke, thank you. Nothing but blessings.
Literally at hospital at the moment! The waiting area was so disgusting loitered with trash even though there was one person there waiting. The maintenance lady was nicer and gave clearer directions than the receptionist and nurse sitting next to receptionist. Receptionist was extremely short, and was practically multitasking the entire time they were talking to me. Everything takes forever! And the Dr., instead of them bringing you your results, you have to go up to them and ask. Bathrooms disgusting. Everyone just seems like they lowkey hate their job. Worst hospital ever. Practically worst than woodhull in bk. Would not recommend. Hospital is rated low for obvious reasons. Any other nyc hospital is better than this tbh. 9hrs and counting still no answer.
If I can give 0 stars I would. Currently I'm located in a different state and my dad was sent to this hospital by the ambulance. The amount of times I had to drive 3 hrs to this hospital for them to do their job is insane. Since Saturday my dad been on the 14th floor and I've been trying to get a transfer, it is now Thursday and he's still on that floor. This hospital doesn't have an acute unit which is for patients that need physical therapy and they're just ignoring the fact that my father needs his therapy because they have yet to transfer him. I will be getting contacting the department of health and the higher up because at this point they're neglecting his needs. So unprofessional and the nurses and doctors can care less about their patients avoid this hospital.
Came here after trying metropolitan emergency dental, Lincoln emergency dental AND emergency dental on 118th and 3rd ave all SINCE 7AM!!!.The note here at harlem hospital states walk in until 1pm I have been calling the dental line for here since 10am! Finally arrive at the entrance at 11am the receptionist for emergency tells me to go to the entrance on 135th and 5th walk all around lost until a employee from the hospital tells me to enter on 136th and 5th get here at 11:37 from being sent all around the boarderTHE RECEPTIONIST TELLS ME COME BACK TOMORROW THEY STOP TAKING WALK INS AFTER 11AM. THIS IS VERY FRUSTRATING makes somebody want to commit suicide for having to endure all this pain from a wisdom tooth!!!!!!! ibuprofen can do only but so much pain relieving!!!!! These emergency dentals need to really do better appointment only for people who are in serve tooth pain is ridiculous!!!!
I only went once, & Pray to never have to go again. Horrible Hospital in my opinion. They pay very little attention to you even if you are brought into the emergency room. Some rude Nurse's there as well. Been to much better Hostpitals.
Omg best place ever honestly I had the best experience I was nervous at first but then the doctors the nurse they are so caring loving making sure you are good and happy at the end most important safe delivery. Keep it up
My brother got sent to this hospital by an ambulance due to him receiving a head injury at school. Instead of shaving his head and cleaning up the wound so that they can place the staples on his head, they decided to just staple his head WITHOUT shaving his head. This hospital is VERY UNPROFESSIONAL
Do not come here for care, especially if you are having a baby. I wish I had gone somewhere else. From the Doctor botching my c-section, the incompetent nurses not providing the available resources, informing you about appointments they have failed to schedule or scheduling appointments for one thing and the doctors telling you that you are here for something else. This is the worst hospital ever. The WORST.
