While visiting the patient at Lenox Hill Hospital UES NYC on June 21, I found a very dirty room. As you can see by photos, on the floor bandages with blood, covers from medications, etc. I called the nurse, she said you can take a photo, and do whatever you want. Then I called the managing nurse, named Natasha…, she came after one hour. Instead of apologizing she started arguing with me, telling “as long as the patient is safe that’s ok”. New rules: Dirty is Safe for the Patient…according Natasha!!!
I cannot say enough good things about my experience. I went to the ER and was later admitted for emergency surgery. Throughout the whole experience, the staff led with empathy at a time my husband and I needed it the most. Dr. Karamitsos was absolutely amazing and cannot thank him and his team enough for all they did for me.
Normally Lenox Hill Hospital is great and provides excellent care to the people of New York City, but I have to write this review for their Maternal-Fetal Medicine & OBGYN Ultrasound department. I called two days in a row to make an appointment for my wife and they put me on HOLD for an ETERNITY. I lost my patience after 30 minutes on the second day and no one picked up my call. I am not a hospital administrator, but I know that a person should not have to be on hold for 30 minutes to make an appointment. Really disappointed.
Do not come to this emergency room, there are better hospitals a few blocks away on York Avenue. My elderly relative came in from a rehab for an emergency room visit, and they admitted her and tried to have her transferred to their facility when she was already being treated by another doctor at a different hospital five blocks away. She had stabilized in the emergency room less than two hours after being there. It took three more days for us to get her out. The social worker refused to take any calls from the family and even ended up blocking my number when I did finally get through and asked her a simple question. If you really want to see something funny ask any of the staff or the doctors for their name. They don’t even want to give you their names. Run far and fast from this hospital if you can there are better options right in the neighborhood.
The nurse we had was horrible. I understand you have a stressful job. But don’t take it out on us. You work on in a field where it’s stressful and very annoying. You have to have patience. If you don’t have that, you are in the wrong field. I’m sorry I wish I didn’t have to write this but WARNING STAY AWAY
Radiology on 1st Ave and 66th. Soap dispenser in the bathroom not working. I reported it to the front desk. The very next day when my wife had to go for another MRI there was still no soap in the bathroom. If this clinic is missing simple things like soap in the bathrooms what else are they missing that can impact patient safety?
The best staff I ever met in medical facilities work here
Friends, ALWAYS ASK FOR TOTAL PRICE WITH AND WITHOUT INSURANCE before you leave the ER! I went to the ER for a sports injury, got sent home with a prescription for ibuprofen which is fine but not exactly helpful. Ended up with a $1.5k+ bill for a simple visit with a chest x-ray, and the bills are not consolidated so they just keep sending me new surprise fees which is so unethical for patients.
Worst hospital I’ve ever been to. Had a stomach surgery everything went okay. I do think they released me early I couldn’t even walk or eat anything. How does that make sense? Stomach surgery but they do not wait for me to eat something. I went home after not even 3 days after surgery and I was in really bad stomach pain. I couldn’t eat. Everytime I ate i threw up. I couldnt eat anything without throwing up. So after a few days at home with no food that actually stayed inside my stomach I went back to the hospital. All they did was some tests and said my results look ok and they sent me home. During that all they did was talk about how good my surgery went and how amazing everything is healing my stomach was bruised. Disclaimer I don’t know if it’s normal for it to be bruised or not just mentioning. They didn’t offer anything and they didn’t tell me what to do. Not sure what I’m supposed to do now. Definitely don’t recommend that hospital.
I've never experienced a 5 star hospital before. All the staff I had to deal with were great. .. they actually cared. My procedure went well and dealing with all the patients she had... she still managed to take care of us at the same time because there was always a team setting. To all the nurses, doctors and other members that worked with me, I thank you so much for everything. Thank you
