The breakfast! The cook is very warm and inviting. He goes above and beyond to make you feel at home. The free breakfast is tasty and well worth it! The coffee is amazing and I loved the breakfast selection. We had a blast playing the board games and enjoying the great room. The heated toilet seat was pretty neat. We will be back!
Absolutely gorgeous, homely and inviting! The innkeeper was a joy to be around and it’s clear he puts a lot of care into what he does. He has a precious cat too that is eager to love you. I want to emphasize the breakfast as well. I would return here solely for the breakfast. We had eggs, sausage, bacon, many drink selections, grain selections…this place is incredible. Stay here.
A quiet, cozy, and comfy spot that makes you feel like home. Room is spacious and clean. Staff is very friendly and personable. Tasty home cooked breakfast.
Gorgeous and inviting. The fellow who maintains it and cooks breakfast is a diligent attendee and an entertaining raven-buff, hit him up for a pleasant chat. The rooms are gorgeous with beautiful views. The wooded areas are filled with birds and vibrant plant life. There's enough room for a large gathering, and also to get a bit of quiet alone time during a large gathering. I was here for the wedding of a close friend, for which I traveled across the country. If I ever return to Sacramento, I should really enjoy getting to visit this place again.
Had a great stay at the HRL! The gardens are beautiful. I was able to use the WiFi for work Google docs and I also streamed a workout in my room. I stayed in room 8 and it was very clean. It had a fridge and a microwave and both worked great. The AC worked well, too. I chose this room because it had a dining table so I could spread out and work. The breakfast was quiche one day and pancakes the next. Both good. The location is Super close to Scott’s flats and a 7 min drive to downtown Nevada city. I walked to the deli down the road and my sandwich was so good! The one and only negative comment I have is that the bed was super soft and somewhat uncomfortable, but I know that’s personal preference.
This place was absolutely fantastic. The room was large and still had a cozy but tasteful feel. The gardens surrounding the property are gorgeous. The woman operating the lodge was incredibly friendly and generous with us, and had yummy hot options at breakfast time. She also gave us a great recommendation on where to go river swimming that turned out to be our favorite place to do so Oregon creek day use area. On top of all of that, there is an adorable, friendly little lodge dog who really delighted my kids. I can't wait to stay here in the future.
This place was amazing. The grounds are kept up very nicely. The buildings are rustic and modern all at the same time. The rooms a large and spacious. Perfect place for a wedding, party or large family reunion. I definitely will be returning to this place.
Spacious rooms and wonderful homemade breakfasts in a beautiful forest setting with lush gardens and friendly staff. Plenty of hiking trails and things to do in nature!Rooms: 5/5
We had a great experience. We booked a room on the first floor, with 2 queen beds. We took our 10 and 9yr old children. Michelle in the main house check-in, is so nice and the housekeeper too. This lodge is PET Friendly!!! Which is a major plus! Our room had a small patio that leads to a huge enclosed area for the dogs and kids to run and play. The grounds are kept nice. The rooms are big. Our room had a jacuzzi tub. The breakfast was homemade and so yummy! Its close to the snow and a nearby lake. We had a wonderful time. We would definitely visit again!
We got the giant sized room. Plenty of space, great day bed, vaulted ceiling w ceiling fan was a plus. Quiet AC unit, nice couch. And the grounds were amazing. Beds were pretty bad, definitely needs new mattresses. No TV but that wasn't a big deal. All of this plus a very helpful front desk lady made it a pretty decent stay. Standard continental breakfast. Good quiet getaway
