Heart of America Carnival At Valle Vista Mall

A lot of walking! I needed to go to LensCrafters and it was a long walk, and I don't walk well! They should have electric scooters! I would have really enjoyed looking around the mall! Several places were empty, so sad!

Mall had really declined. Sad. It use to be the place to go and now.... well it's a shadow of what it use to be. Ownership really need to make push to get new, attractive stores in.

The Valle Vista Mall is no longer what it used to be. It was the place to be on Saturday afternoons in the 80s and 90s. This mall is hanging on by a thread. Only about 1/4 to 1/3 store occupancy. As soon as you walk in it's like, "What's the point?" The only anchor store remaining is JC Penny, and even that store seems like it's on its last leg. Dillard's, Sears, Mervyn's, Bealls closed years ago. Other stores have moved in but do not have mall access Big Lots, Urban Air, Ollie's, Gold's Gym. It seems as though the Outlet Mall in Mercedes killed the Valle Vista Mall. If you want a real mall experience go to the La Plaza Mall in McAllen or Sunrise Mall in Brownsville.

It used to be one of my favorite mall's growing up. Now unfortunately, it looks like a flea market. Don't go there anymore.

The mall is officially dying and staring to look like the old mall... Might as well close all remaining stores and knock it down to make an Academy and other stores we need not duplicates from what we have in Harlingen as it is weslaco is growing faster than Harlingen since I moved down here back in 1996 Harlingen hasn't grown at all!

Decent place to go when there's nothing better to do, had good food options and a good amount of stores to spend all day in. Has a beautiful 2 story carousel by the food court, good for the kids!

This mall is a great place to get your steps in as long as you aren't looking for a wide variety of shops. It is usually pretty quiet and a whole wing is empty. It does have a Dillards clearance with some good deals. Several gold jewelry kiosks. Kay and Zales with a Gold Works shop competing. Gold gym and a massage station. JC Penney which appears to be not closing, GNC, Dental office and of course eye glasses shoe, nail salons, haircutters and GNC. There is a Big Lots only accessed from outside. Large clean restrooms located in food court. Stroller available near exit at food court. The pictures below taken on a.Saturday around 12:30 so you can see not very busy. Big mall with huge potential but about 50% empty. Car park lines and other signs are fading out. It looks like an abandoned place. Yet, it is a great location and has amazing potential.

Nice selection of stores in this area. Don't really remember which were in this specific mall.

I have been in Harlingen for over 16 years and it's sad to see the mall in its current condition. So little stores are still open! Only a few choices to eat.
