My mom passed away couple weeks ago… I called Heaven’s Gate Funeral Home right away… and thank god they were be able to accommodate us right after. We lived in San Francisco, and wanted to bring mom back home as her wishedVietnam. and with no hesitation… he took off right away after we hang up 11:42pm Thursday. They’re all so nice and professional… my mom was be able to come home after only 6days.I can’t tell you how thankful and appreciate we are. Many thanks to Heaven’s Gate Funeral Home. Many many thanks
Our family lost our beloved Grandma on February 10, 2020. She was the center of our family so we wanted to make sure her funeral reflected just how important she was to us. Unfortunately, the owner of this establishment made it impossible from the start. The owner, Thuan, was extremely unprofessional during a time where our family was in mourning. He had given us a price on a casket that we agreed upon and then tried to change the cost to $500 more a day later - blaming the manufacturer for the discrepancy. That should've been our red flag for what was to come. Originally we were only going to do one day of viewing Friday however after further family discussion, we wanted to do an additional day of viewing on Thursday. He said we could have it from 3pm-7pm but the day before he said we would only be able to do it from 3pm-5pm. Although not ideal, we adjusted and told our friends and family of the time change. On the day of the first day of Viewing Thursday our grandma received many funeral sprays to the funeral home but the owner refused to accept any of them and turned them away. We had at least 4 different floral shops contact us about this. When we called the owner to see what was going on, he answered the phone with a very hostile tone. We were shocked and appalled. He told us that he would not be accepting any "f**cking flowers today and to stop f**cking calling" and hung up on us. When it was time to start the viewing, he was nowhere to be found and had sent his "recently hired" office manager, Annette. Annette was nice and tried her best to turn things around. However, at this point the damage was done and we were all extremely upset that someone would do this during such a sensitive and fragile time. Many people who sent flowers to the funeral home had to pay an additional fee to have the flowers taken back and resent the following day to the church. We would have changed funeral homes if we had not already paid Thuan. We also called him about the incorrect date of birth he put on our grandma's death certificate and once he picked up and heard our voice, he hung up and has not picked up any of our other calls. Please reconsider using this funeral home as the owner lacks any morals and decorum. Losing a loved one is never easy and this owner will make it much harder and then disappear without taking any accountability.
When you choose to do business in the field of dealing with families who are grieving over a great loss, you are expected to have a certain degree of sensitivity. But the business owner Tuan has anything but that! Nothing will be perfect of course but when you blatantly lack any morals or respect, it shows. In the case of him dealing with our family if definitely showed through several different instances & different family members from promises made but not followed through, rude improper language usage, to just being totally unethical. I wouldn’t want your family to go through the heartache of a great loss & have to deal with this type of ordeal as my family did when there are so many businesses out there that will be way more sensitive to your needs as should be. POSSIBLE FUTURE CLIENTS BEWARE!!!!
I just had my funeral services for my grandfather through Heaven's Gate memorial services this weekend. My family is extremely upset with how everything went. The owner did not tell us that Garden Crematory was in a warehouse and we believed it would be a nicer, more intimate setting to say goodbye to my grandfather. To top it off, he had rushed us through the entire memorial. We were supposed to have the viewing room from 10am-12 before the cremation. He rushed everyone to say their final goodbyes, and took my grandfathers body to the incinerator in the cement warehouse, lead us in there while we were so distraught and crying that we didn't notice he put my grandpas body in and ended the service before 11:30!! There was also someone else's dead flower arrangement in the viewing rooming the floor by my grandfathers coffin and what looked like an urn! And when we went into the room with the incinerator, there was another coffin by the door just covered with a sleeve. Last, but not least, I don't believe they prepared my grandfathers body the best they could because I could see there was some kind of white stuffing in his mouth as it wasn't completely closed. This was not the right way to say goodbye to my grandfather and his children are very very upset. A funeral should never ever be rushed and a lot of people didn't get to pay their respects as our service was ended over 30 minutes early. I thought I had deep regrets not visiting my grandfather sooner, but my deeper regret is using this funeral home that cut our goodbyes even shorter.
The worst customer service and a complete rip off to my family. We are struggling with a death of a loved one and the workings of this establishment are extremely unprofessional. For a place that claims to be "heavens gate" seems more like the gates of hell. Joe specifically is extremely rude and does not know what customer service is. Not to mention this location is the biggest rip off especially falsely pricing to scam families that are already struggling.
This business needs to reevaluate the definition of customer service, empathy and decency. If a person or family is grieving over death of a loved one, it is extremely inappropriate to raise your voice in a threatening and confrontation manner especially to an elder. Have some respect. Learn to listen and shout less. Or perhaps try a different line of business?
Unprofessional service. I went to a place which they called a chapel but it's actually a restaurant. It's funny I just went there for a wedding then a week after for a funeral. The people work there are rude. I saw an old lady fell down because of the stair, some people and I helped her to get up. I came and talked to someone works there. He told me that the lady was careless and her fault at all. What the ...? I wish I could give them 0 star. If someone who falls down by that stair, sue them!
Mr. Tuan Nguyen is a compassionate funeral director. From the moment we talked to him until the completion of my father's funeral, he was there for us and helping us to celebrate his life in a most dignity way. The facility was nice and clean. The staff were wonderful and helpful. Their price is unbeatable and everything was done according to the services promised. I would recommend anyone who doesn't want to deal with headache or anxiety to use this funeral home. Thank you Mr. Tuan Nguyen.
This Funeral Home is frustrating to say the least. RUSH RUSH RUSH. Everything on their time. Saying they are all Unprofessional is being nice. At times it almost felt like harrassment. I feel like i could write a short book on how frustrating it was to work with this FH. Lesson learned.
Very trustworthy funeral service we have used on our family life celebration services at Westminster Memorial Park, Good Shepherd Cemetery & Christ Cathedral all with the help of "Heaven's Gate Funeral Home" I highly recommend this memorial service provider.
