We stayed at this campground several times for 2 or more weeks at a time. We planned a longer stay and booked and paid a Large deposit over $900.00 assuming we'd be able to make the dates. 3 weeks before arrival I was diagnosed with Prostate Cancer. Doctors advised I should cancel. So I called and spoke to the owner explaining the situation. She quickly reminded me of the cancelation Policy of 30 days notice. 2 weeks later I called to see if I could book some days as my treatment wouldn't start for 45 days. She told me they were sold out! Couldn't book even 1 week! I'm sorry, but deposits are to cover the business from loss of business! She did not lose any business, but instead made a nice profit off my misfortune! Although I love the campground I cannot recommend staying there!
This CG is very well located. Audrey gave us many wonderful recommendations. Very wooded spacious sites. Highly recommend if you’re going to Kennebunkport and environs.
This is a beautiful camp ground and so convenient to Kennebunkport a must see while in the area, the lady and her dog that run the office are super nice, the young man that fills the propane and other jobs is very friendly and helpful, the bathhouse and laundry are both very clean, they have internet and cable T.V.. The only down side which really isn't much the washers only have cold water and our cell service was a little touch and go.
We stayed at Hemlock Grove Campground after an unexpected vehicle breakdown on our way to Acadia. Corey and his family, the owners, were so kind, accomodating, and helpful! We decided to change our plans and stay for the week. Hemlock Grove was the perfect place to take care of repairs and to relax. It is quiet, woodsy, has excellent Wi-Fi, and clean facilities. Access to grocery stores, restaurants, and a fun mini golf course, Raptor Falls, are just up the road. I highly recommend!
We have stayed twice at Hemlock Grove -- Sept '20 and in June of '21, enjoying it both times. The family staff is helpful and friendly, and the property is well-maintained. Except for a few in the open for large rigs, the sites are shady and all are spacious. It is a smaller campground making it quiet both day and night. Wifi is free, and we had no problems streaming Netflix during our stays. It is a pet-friendly campground. There is a fabulous food truck at the entrance serving excellent lobster rolls, clam plates, etc. and beaches are just a few miles away, as are the charming towns of Kennebunk and Kennebunkport which offer dining and shopping opportunities. Be prepared for dealing with traffic and paying a non-resident beach parking fee during the busy summer months; Hemlock Grove would be improved if it offered a swimming pool the ONLY reason I'm giving it 4 stars and not 5. The camp store stocks non-food items you may have forgotten or run out of, but a supermarket and hardware store are only a mile down the road. We also recommend a trip to the Seashore Trolley Museum, on the way to beach and town -- the trolley ride is fun and interesting. Our grandson loved the animatronic dinos at a nearby mini-golf course.
Hemlock Grove is by far the best campground in the area. We spent the entire summer season here and our only regret was not being able to stay the winter. All of the other seasonals were warm, friendly, and inviting. we made friends here we will always be in contact with. The staff is amazing, the sites are big and roomy, the hook ups are perfect, all that Kennebunk and Kennebunkport have to offer is 5 mins away, and the place is hands down beautiful. Corey and his family made the experience amazing! We will be back!!!
Great location for Kennebunkport Maine. Nice wooded campground in the middle of a Hemlock Grove. Quiet and peaceful. Staff was very nice, helpful and welcoming. Clean with large full hook up sites.
We have been a part of Hemlock Grove Campground family for 6 years. We were told about the campground by a friend. We bought a fifth wheel trailer, made reservations and after we arrived we never left. We became a seasonal, bought a park model, and will be here as long as we can. This campground is peaceful, extremely clean and well kept. We love listening to the quiet of nature, socializing with old friends and have made many new ones. The owners Jim and Audrey Wakefield are friendly and if needed always offer a helping hand And a smile. We have many friends that camp and always recommend coming here. Thank you Jim and Audrey for always making us feel like we're home . Patrick and Deborah Sullivan
This was our first time at Hemlock Grove and had a great experience. We found the campground to be very well groomed with spacious wooded sites that were easy to get in/out of. The bathrooms were extremely clean, staff was very friendly and bonus of complimentary coffee in camp store! Would highly recommend.
My husband and I have been seasonal for 10 years, and look at Hemlock Grove as our second home and second family. The natural beauty and undisturbed wooded area is the background for peaceful days and nights. When we first started here we were made to feel very welcomed and we were given a list of the rules and policies, which in our opinion were for our comfort and safety. The owners... Jim and Audrey Wakefield were then and still are always on site, which makes this campground a secure and extremely well run place. I would like to give my opinion on the "No motorcycle " policy.....this is not discriminating against people who ride motorcycles, this is a policy against bikes. When you check into Hemlock Grove you are given a gate key, allowing you to come and go anytime day or night. After midnight when the campground is quiet,, no matter how hard the rider may try to come in quietly and there were a few who didn't even try the noise of the bike would wake up parents, kids and pets. Who probably couldn't go back to sleep. This is why the policy was put in...this is the same as rules or laws stopping ATVs, dirt bikes and snowmobiles from running on private property. This is not discriminating against bikers that ride. This is about keeping a quiet night just that...Quiet! So, after listening to trucks, cars, motorcycles, sirens and etc. it is wonderful to come up to our second home for peace and quiet! I would highly recommend this campground to any of my friends!
