Hennessey's Tavern, Dana Point

Great live music. Watched Entropy perform and they were great. Food was okay - we had quesadillas which were just kinda plain and a burger which was good. But the place was freezing as they had all the doors open at 11pm and it was cold outside. Cate our waitress was really awesome and could be a super model if she wanted. Definitely come if they have live music.

Fun spot to come for drinks, live music, and football. The locals that come here are fun and welcoming. Plenty of space to sit down and the patio is cool. Update 1/2: came here with a group of people for lunch and the food is great. Live music again and the same locals who were all cool. Love coming here, there's always space, food great, drinks good, and everyone is awesome.

They have great customer service. We had a last minute party of 30 and they put tables together and made our night great. The food tastes great. I had the cheese burger, it was so juicy. Vegetarian options: Vegetarian plates were also delish.

Was there last Saturday, and I should've known when I walked in around 8pm and we were the only people there besides staff and the band setting up. Service was so lackluster, I'd never been so I asked if there was anything the server recommended. She replied with "eh, whatever's highlighted in yellow I guess." Asked if they made a good old fashioned, she said sure. Should've taken the hint, but I ordered one. Drink was cloudy, and so was the ice. Food was not great, but I was starving...so I ate the wings I ordered. Huge mistake. Had the worst case of food poisoning within 2-3 hours later, and was vomiting violently until passing out at home in the early morning hours. I should also add that I had to call to get a ride home, as I didn't drink heavily, but was so dizzy from being sick that I couldn't see straight. And as others have stated, very run down interior and even worse bathrooms. Seems like there's way better options in the same plaza and around the corner.

Shocking experience. Being turned away for being Irish and not having a state ID. Showed driving licence and offered passport; neither accepted as state only and made clear solely this state would be accepted. Do not recommend this bar to anyone outside of the town. In particular to Irish people as you’ll be offended seeing your flag blowing in the wind and having a bouncer saying no. Don’t show another countries flag if you don’t respect it’s people.

The bar tenders get slammed. Try to group your orders and order simple things like beer or "well &.." to speed things up. Sticks and Stones was an incredibly epic live band, maybe the best I've ever seen. The whole crowd was jumping and dancing and singing. Best birthday night ever. Thank you.

Nice happy hour with good prices. This is a big place with indoor and outdoor bars and seating. Live entertainment is a bonus and good vibe. Service on our visit was ok.
