Hillside Park

Nice little park nestled in a residential neighborhood on the far east side of Ankeny. Has a small playground and shelter, as well as paved trails around 2 small ponds. From my experience, I haven't seen many people fish out here, but the fishing is actually quite good. You won't likely catch any monsters, but there are a lot of bluegill & largemouth bass, that are generally pretty eager to bite. There are catfish as well, and several snapping turtles that are also more than happy to try to steal your bait.

Great playground, but I wish parking was easier because it's a long trek with little kids. There's a separate toddler play structure plus baby swings. A portable restroom is at at the bottom of the hill. There's a shelter with two picnic tables.

Great park- great toddler area and big kid area. Great sidewalk trail around pond. Beautiful views. Street parking with no easy access- have to walk 2 blocks to get to play area.

This park was fun and had a great view the only reason i didnt give 5 stars was because there is no parking. You have to park on a street and walk over.

Fun park but the bathroom is always disgusting. Nice pond with a cool fountain.

Hard to get to if you don't live in the neighborhood. But a decent little park.
