Try to find a place that shows respect for the living. I’m not sure how to start this complaint. I’m wondering if it is fair practice to charge someone that wants to visit a loved one.? They needed one last time to say goodbye. I was told that a family friend had to pay $300 to see a deceased loved one. How can you live with yourself knowing you are preying on someone’s time to grieve. You are in the business of compassion, not stealing. You get a failing grade for this act of robbery, shame on you.
Several years ago -like 10- had the awkward experience of ensuring all items were as needed with my wife for her then still living mother. When her father had passed many years earlier it was decided to give her mom a chance to pick out her stuff. After some years went by, we had the horrible experience of her mother passing unexpectedly at home, just after dinner. Mr. Hoffman said he'd have everything in order, simply call the number. As we had moved to a different county by then I wasn't sure it'd be that seamless. It was. Jeff was a man of his word, they took care of everything after the hospital, and it was exactly how it had been arranged. I don't look forward to having to make the phone call again, but I know that if I do and if Jeff is still involved we have nothing to worry about on that end.
I would like to thank Jim Tobin from Dudley Hoffman Mortuary for making our difficult time much easier. Shortly after our father passed away, Jim called me and was very kind and helped us finalize the arrangements my father had already made. My brother and I met with Jim the following day and finalized the details and Jim committed to several items. He took care of each of those with no problems. With both my brother and I living outside the state, Jim's help really went a long way. Thank you Jim Tobin and the rest of the team at Dudley Hoffman Mortuary.
I will give Dudley Hoffman mortuary a 5 star rating. No one wants to think of the time when this service will be needed for their loved ones , but there does come a time when this decision has to be made. I have dealt with Jeff , his son and staff several times and have received very professional, caring and honest service. Not only was everything explained to me , but they did everything possible to walk me through these difficult times. I found out that Jeff has helped many families when needed in our community .
I was very pleased with the services provided by Dudley-Hoffman Mortuary after my mother's death. I was impressed with the kindness, care, and professionalism shown by each staff member. It was necessary to adjust the preliminary arrangements because of COVID-19 restrictions. Dudley-Hoffman Mortuary was very accommodating.
I have been a Pastor in Santa Maria for 23 years and have worked with Dudley Hoffman Mortuary many times. I have found them to always be, professional, helpful, comforting, and caring.
Went with my grandmother to get a quote on a double plot. Michael quoted us a price for a double plot, but when my grandfathers remains were ready to go into the memory garden, the prices changed. I made sure during the first meeting I asked questions so I was clear on the pricing. There was also another gentleman who worked there that oversaw the meeting. Our fault for not getting it in writing, but seriously avoid this place at all costs. They are trying to take advantage of the elderly and I think it's a disgusting business practice. I willl also be filing a complaint with the BBB.
The saddest thing in my life was to lose my Mother but Dudley Hoffman help me out so much made everything alot easier for me and my Family and service was excellent. Thank you.
