Holland station

Description

Holland station, also known as the Padnos Transportation Center, is an intermodal transit station in Holland, Michigan. It serves Amtrak's Pere Marquette line and is the central hub for Macatawa Area Express (MAX) buses. The facility includes a ticket machine and a waiting room. The depot building is a renovated 1926 structure, built by the Pere Marquette Railroad. The 1926 structure was advocated by local station agent Edward Belden Rich, who lobbied the line for a new structure since he arrived in Holland in 1909. Rich served the Pere Marquette Line in Holland until his retirement in 1936. Renovations were completed in 1991. Rich's great grandson Craig R. Rich, a city council member from 1982-2009, served on the renovation committee and emceed the dedication ceremony.Transit connectionsRiders can transfer between Amtrak trains and all of the MAX system routes. Route 8 connects riders to Zeeland - the rest extend to various destinations throughout Holland. Under the current Pere Marquette schedule, weekday Chicago-bound riders can transfer from all bus routes to the train. Riders going to Grand Rapids can connect to the train using Route 9 (the Twilight Route), the only route that operates when the train arrives at the station at 9:20 PM. But because the last Twilight Route bus leaves the station at 9:00 PM, riders taking the Grand Rapids-bound train to Holland can't take advantage of this connection.

2023 Holland Tulip Fest.. Tulips are nice but would I go back to see them.....no. A long afternoon of trying to find a parking space, walking around and waiting in lines. One regret forgot to buy a pair of wooden shoes.
As long as they don't cone off the parking lot, this place isn't bad. I just can't give it 5 stars after watching a handicapped person with mobility issues struggle and barely make it to the station from the long trek from the road because they coned it off. Making handicapped people struggle for no reason should be a serious issue to amtrak and the city of Holland
The Amtrak app & website are absolutely horrible & the complete polar opposite of user friendly. How is Amtrak even in business? I'm assuming they're partially funded by the federal government.
I am handicap with mobility issues. Despite the hours state they were open, the parking lot was closed forcing me to walk and almost fall several times to get to the platform. Additionally, not having Wi-Fi on a transcontinental train is pathetic.
The train station is excellent.
This rating has to do with the man that works at the Holland Station. He was extremely condescending, rude, and it felt like he was discrimatory against certain people. He didn’t yell at everybody about the rules, even when they were breaking them. He blocked off the roundabout section at the station because he wanted to make sure no one parked in the drop off spots for buses...even though no busses were on sight...Then because of him blocking it off, it made people have a hard time getting in and out, which clogged up the station. I have little respect left for this male worker, and think he needs to reevaluate how he treats the customers at the station.
Very nice clean easy parking. Highly recommended rather than the Grand Rapids station
Small train station, but nice. When I used it there was a once a day train that ran from Ann Arbor through to Chicago I believe.
I’ve seen RR stations like this, but, I am coming back when COVID-19 ends.
Never had a problem with the trains to and from Chicago. Convenient and safe.
