Homosassa Riverside Resort

We stayed here for our third annual family scalloping trip. It's nothing fancy, but it is everything we need. Bed to sleep in, kitchen to cook and eat fresh scallops every night, pool to unwind at night. We are able to dock our boat directly in front of our condo. Makes for a relaxing weekend on Florida's best. The entertainment selection is great. We stayed 3 nights and went to a different bar with live entertainment each night for food and drinks.

Fabulous location, outstanding service, comfortable beds. This is a fishing / scalloping resort where the resort wear is all about comfort and fishing. Rooms are comfortable and sufficient. Pillows on beds were fluffy but bring your own if you are picky. I asked for an extra blanket, or bring an extra from home. Our standard room has no closet for hang up clothes - I didn't bring any and if you are here fishing, you don't need any hanging clothes anyway! Plenty of drawer space. We laid our towels and wet clothes on the outside chairs to dry, and window unit A/C blowing warm air outside did a great job drying our items. Perfect!!! Adorable gift shop, breakfast/lunch restaurant OUTSTANDING cash only, affordable and delicious! and pizza place in the evening was also delicious. We will certainly be back!!! Nearby activities: Plenty of other restaurants by car or boat. Pool, ice cream, bike rentals. Food & drinks: Plenty of other restaurants available by car or boat ride. Noteworthy details: Laid back fishing resort.

We only live 10 miles from this resort but stay here for mini-vacations. It's a great atmosphere especially if you have a boat or like to drink. Beware of scallop season though. It can get crazy but still fun. Love the house keepers. Super cool. Walkability: Convince store short walk away for those forgotten items. Shed and Monkey bar seconds walk away. Super convenient for any of your needs.

I have previously visited the Florida Cracker Kitchen in Jacksonville, is always a great brunch and lunch spot when by the beach. However the Homosassa location is on an entire different level. Entire compound, detached riverside bar with view of Monkey Island yes real monkeys, hotel, and the restaurant. Seemed to be a very busy marina location so plenty of good people fishing or scalloping to support the large facility. Every server and staff was over the top enjoyable. So many laughs. You can't skip the gift shop! The bloody Mary mix and pour is the best we've had. They will cook your burger medium which I appreciate as a lil pink is best especially around breakfast time. Fried shrimp basket was perfect. Service and seating fast even on a wait. Don't skip it, or go out of your way to visit! You'll be glad you did.

Absolutely one of the funnest places for young people on the water. You can see all the other bars from this location and you can jump on your paddle board or your kayak or your boat right from this spot and go to any of the great little tiki bar boat rentals all kinds of great things going on Noteworthy details: If you want to experience Florida and all of its Glory I would definitely stay here it's down home locals you have to like kind of off the beaten path but not scary

Beautiful little river community with great amenities if you love to fish or scallop. Also access to the Gulf or to the springs. We loved our stay at the Florida Cracker. The rooms were very clean and cozy.Rooms: 5/5

Went on Sept.7 for 3 day birthday vacation. Was told ahead of time that downstairs had hurricane flood damage. All the staff was most pleasant and helpful had a great stay. Hope ya'll git back up and running soon. I wish I could have gotten a free boat slip since the pool was closed tho!!!! Or at least a free bloody mary!!!Rooms: 5/5

everything was wonderful in the resort room was fabulous staff was amazing... left my wallet on the bar full of money etc... it was turned in to the office unmolested... the young man that turned it in refused to accept a reward... he works here also... the whole town is full of old Florida southern hospitality... best 4th of July everRooms: 5/5

We have been coming to this place for at least the last 10 years. We bring up a stack of people with us each year. This year we had over 75 people and they always roll out the red carpet. The staff is amazing, the food at the little restaurant is some of the best southern breakfast around, and the monkey bar is always a good time with live music and great staff. Don't forget to get one or 2 of their pizzas for the short walk back to your room. It's old florida up in Homosassa, so expect to hear a ma'am or a sir when people talk to you...its the way the south used to be. Rooms: Ask about pet friendly rooms, they have them...dont get caught sneaking your dog in they will find out and ohhh man are they good at it....trust me your not the 1st to try it and definitely not going to be the last. It's cheaper to just let them know u have a pet...promise. Make sure you leave the staff a tip in the room when leaving, the ladies work hard to keep things moving and clean, they deserve it. Nearby activities: Kayaking, boat, golf cart rentals are all withing walking distance also close by are, offshore and inshore fishing guides. And during scallop season there are scallop guided adventures as well. Food & drinks: You have the monkey bar and restaurant, the food is good, the pizzas are really good, I highly recommend MarkerAid it's a seltzer that tastes like blue power aid....so good, also you have the florida cracker restaurant that serves some of the BEST breakfast around and for a great price too.

It was a Monday so there wasn't any good food. The alcohol was limited to brands. Not a fan. Sadly. The location is awesome. Didn't stay in a room. Just came for lunch but that didn't happen.Service: 4/5
