First let me say, having an almost free place to stay while you need to be near loved one or a patient is such a blessing! Staff is great and shuttle drivers are very friendly too.But make sure to look at websites ahead of time so you are prepared.. My hubby made the arrangements and apparently didn't look at how facility is set up so we were very surprised when we saw our room. Biggest thing...BRING OWN PILLOWS. We stayed at the hospitality place at mcv in Richmond which has private hotel rooms with 2 comfy full size beds with hotel style linens, TV, fridge microwave and huge fully stocked bathroom. These rooms are very minimal. 2 twin hospital type mattresses with old flat plastic pillows and hospital sheets and blankets with a chest of drawers and a lamp. Had we not of had experience in other facility, I don't think we would have been so taken back and had we looked at website before hand I am writing this so others understand what to expect and not meant to be a complaint. As I said in the beginning, it is such a blessing to have a guest house associated with any hospital. Most people that come long distance wouldn't be able to afford to stay, especially with the cost of even a budget hotel in a big college town. So thank you UVA hospital for providing this

I was so glad to find this available to patients. Nice and clean. Mary it was so very helpful. Everyone who was there for the two days was very nice and helpful. Excellent location. Was so glad to find some place close to the hospital because I come from over 4 hours away about every 3 months for treatment for Parkinson's. Amazing accommodations!  Rooms: Simple but very clean  Walkability: There is an amazing amount of restaurants and cafes within walking distance. Even a neighborhood grocery store. And I loved the hospital shuttle every half hour

I spoke to Mary whom is manager of the hospitality house this morning, after speaking to her, I am convinced that if you are in need of a place to stay while your loved one is in the hospital being cared for this place will be a perfect place to get rest, Thank you for all you do!!! My mom stayed here while my father was in the cancer treatment center. I wish there were refrigerators in the room but no complaints.Rooms: 5/5

My dad has to stay here for five and a half weeks for radiation treatment. I had to call to set up everything for him. I spoke with Mrs. Mary and she set things up for me. She was very nice and patient. She took her time to answer all of my questions and she explained everything to me. She told me all about the place and what to look forward to. I had to relay everything to my dad and he's looking forward to his stay. Mrs. Mary is awesome

Wow, I am blown away by the "hospitality" that this place offers! Everyone was so pleasant and helpful during a very stressful time while my husband was in the hospital here at UVA. Once I knew this place existed, all I did was make a call to reserve a room that was cheaper for an entire week than a motel would have been for just one night! This place is truly a blessing for families that are already dealing with so much stress! The suites are very clean and accommodating! They are like an apartment complete with a laundry room and everything you would need for an extended stay! What a great service they offer!

Clean rooms, good shower pressure, awesome train ride by & college kids having fun. Price is definitely right for my continuous outpatient services. Mini-vaca minus the chemotherapy.Rooms: 5/5

This is a great place! They tell you there is no parking and you need to take the shuttle- but I couldn’t figure out how to use shuttle with my suitcase- and other junk I needed for work- so I drove over and found off street parking and when I couldn’t, there was a parking garage 1/2 block away that charged $5 / night. I loved being in a college area. It is called The Corner- tons of shops and small restaurants and coffee- Beautiful campus and hospital and doctors saved my husband! ED very efficient- This is one high caliber place! Love this place!  UVA!

My wife is going through treatments at UVA hospital.  We have stayed at Hospitality house twice.   On our second visit we had the pleasure of Meeting Mary.   She has been wonderful.  She explained the procedures and rules the day I met her.  She has been attentive and caring.  We both look forward to seeing her each morning she works.  Recommendation's: The fan motors in the 1st floor bathrooms are very noisy.  I'm a former builder and Construction analyst.  The bearings in the fan assembly wear out and become noisy.  It is easy to replace the motor fan assembly.  The fan bodies or the housing its screwed to have Model numbers that you can see as soon as you remove the ceiling cover.  After you remove the cover on the ceiling, unplug the fan body from the housing,  unscrew three or four screws holding the fan and motor.  You can look  look online or call a local distributor for the model and order.  Takes less than 20 minutes to take the old one out and install the new one.  Keep in mind your not removing the whole box assembly fixed in the ceiling only the fan motor assembly.  Chris Birchall
