This Yoga School offers opportunities to deepen your practice and understanding of yoga through workshops, retreats, and a 250 hr Teacher Training Program.
This yoga school offers a paradigm that addresses the holistic health of the individual AND the world we create. It’s a chance for students to experience themselves and their own inner power.
House of the Gathering has an extensive yoga teacher training program that integrates yoga and depth psychology. Together, these studies embody a practice that take a holistic, expansive look at the human experience, both physical and spiritual.
Through yoga, we explore the self, mind/body connection, develop skills for stretching and strengthening, and develop self-awareness through postures, meditation, and yogic thought.
Through depth psychology, we learn that the unconscious is just as much a part of us as our conscious, and how to navigate the rich language of our unconscious self through dreams and symbols.
There’s more. Our study of yoga and depth psychology is wed to the natural world in a beautiful, meaningful way. We perform practical sustainability through seed starting, seed saving, composting, animal husbandry, and other stewardship practices. We study nutrition as it applies to humans living in the modern world, in this food system, in this country. We practice asana on the veranda overlooking Lake Superior, chant in the sari-draped sun porch, and meditate in hillside gardens strewn with prayer flags.
Lastly, and perhaps most importantly, we incorporate Seva, a yogic practice of service. It is integral to this program as we join together in stewardship of the earth, and accountability to community through service.
