Pretty cool little beach! Loved seeing all the stones people had stacked! Also was a lot of fun to ride the ferry over. It was my first time using one. Such a cool little island in general!
This beach is not just any ordinary landscape - it's a marvel, an exquisite and unconventional masterpiece of nature! Crafted not from the usual grains of sand, but from an unusual tapestry of rocks, it offers a truly unique and delightful encounter. Each step taken on these rocks might prickle your soles a little, introducing an unexpected yet intriguing sensation akin to an al fresco foot massage. Despite the initial discomfort, the sensation soon gives way to an invigorating and unexpected pleasure that sets this beach apart from any other. As for the water, it's an invigorating mix of refreshing and temperate - not quite the biting cold one might expect, but a fresh and lively chill that's ideally suited for a summer dip. The sensation is so refreshing, in fact, it's worth the pilgrimage here during the scorching summer months. This beach, with its unique rocky terrain and temperate waters, offers more than a beautiful vista. It provides a tactile, invigorating, and completely novel experience, making it a must-visit spectacle that's worth a spot on everyone's summer itinerary.
Absolutely stunning! If you are on Washington Island, I cannot recommend this spot enough! It was so unique with the large smooth rocks on the beach and pine tree forest along the coast. Make sure not to stack rocks or take any rocks.
It’s only May so the water is ice cold but it was such a beautiful beach to see. We brought water sandals and the kids were able to enjoy walking along the stones and we watched some experts skipping stones. There were lots of people but it didn’t feel crowded. The absence of sand meant that it smelled pristine.
Great place for a cookout under the pavilion with the provided grill and tables with serving station! The pavilion is right on the rock beach for all the entertainment! Great for kids!
Almost ruined our whole trip... my niece couldn't skip a rock and just when she was ready to give up a nice family that was there showed us how and we did it! Lovely waters and fun to stack the rocks too!
Beautiful beach! They make it very clear that you are not allowed to take the stones with you!! They're very cool to look at.
This is a must stop on Washington Island. The picnic areas are clean and shady, bathrooms are clean, the water is beautiful, and the rocks are the smoothest rocks I have ever felt. Such a unique beach and a family favorite.
Beautiful beach with perfectly smooth limestone rocks. Definitely a unique experience!
Really unique and cool beach! It's all rocks and no sand so it makes it a little difficult to move around. Water is very clear and gets deep really quick!
