We usually come here for day use or a rest stop, but it is a lovely park with camping, cabins, a little store, clean public restrooms, a few picnic tables, pretty Skagit River views, fishing, and a kid's play area. Cool historical markers and building. One of the few places along highway 20 with public restrooms that are open year-round! Always pretty up here in every season!
Date visited 9/17/2022 Nice quiet little park. Some historical displays set up in the park. Bench seating that overlooks the river. The playground was clean.
So many great details! Heated bathrooms with dog hookups : beautiful gazebo for parties and right by a river. We had so much fun at the park during the day. Can't wait to go back.
It's a cute little park by the river. I stopped on my motorcycle ride. There was a bathroom and a shady park bench that overlooked the river. It was nice sitting there for a break, watching the water flow by. You can walk down to the water.
Great parking. Easy to access boat ramp. Helpful staff. Clean bathrooms.
Very sweet people operating this campsite. Nice, clean and quiet
Beautiful park , tells some history about the area if you're interested. There's a bench overlooking the river, nice scenery. Drive past the park and there's Rving and looked like they had some Cabins for rent and big Boat Launch. Not sure if you can tent. Pretty big place. There's a building that talks about Bald Eagles. The people inside talk about the Eagles. I recommend this place, very nice.
Howard Miller is a nice stop along highway 20 which runs across the North Cascades. Some beautiful mountain scenery up that way. The park has camping by reservation and a picnic area. Great eagle spotting in the November thru December time frame. Have to call the camp ranger to reserve and sometimes it's hard to get in contact with them.
Great! Will definitely stay here again. Pros: Location is great. Only about 30 min from North Cascades National Park. Grounds are very pretty and well maintained. Nice and quiet. Camp hosts Rich and Karen were super nice and helpful. Bathrooms were clean. Got a lot of firewood and kindling for cheap. Even tho there are plenty of gorgeous trees in the park, still plenty of open sky for satellite internet to work. Cons: Only one. Bring plenty of quarters with you. Showers only take quarters, which is fine, but quarters are hard to come by in the area. No change machine in the park. Only option is to go to the office and ask. Stopped by the office 3 times during weekday business hours before someone was finally there to change a $5. The next time we needed change we went to the 2 closest gas stations, both of which wouldn't give change. Went to the nearest grocery store in Concrete 30 minutes away, which also won't give out quarters "We don't do that". Luckily there is a bank in Concrete who gave us a roll of quarters. PS - Nearby pizza place Annie's Pizza Station and burger stand Cascade Burgers are both GREAT.
Awesome experience floating the river viewing bald eagles
