Howard University Bookstore (The HUB)

Everything is automated. Customer service is never available, they never answer the phone, the mailbox is always full, making it impossible to track automated packages. FYI: if your computer doesn’t compute an entire address once it is sent, how about DONT SEND THE PACKAGE and get back to the customer about update? How does UPS allowed for a n incomplete label to be printed at all?? Also, If you know your customer service can’t answer the phones, at least have a better automated system for sending out packages to cover for delivery mistakes. I will be getting this package and the next one for free because of this negligence and lack of forethought.

I really enjoy the Barnes and Nobles Howard University Bookstore. It had such a diverse selection of books to choose from you could get lost there forever. It's a very chilled and laid-back environment they have a Starbucks adjacent to the bookstore but I didn't patronize that job I really was more observant of all of these beautiful books while I was visiting in town for work. The only downside is that the store closes at 5 and if you're an avid book lover you may need to find another Library or get there earlier

Nice clean store, but too expensive for clothing. 90 dollars for sweat pants with a bison head on it. There are no discounts for potential students or military.

of the best HBCU stores in the country! A little expensive, but you'll pay that much and more for anything else. Might as well, get sommore HBCU paraphernalia.

I was in a bind and needed my online order immediately. The HU Bookstore staff - Kirk, Armani and Alex went above and beyond to make sure I had my items. It was a special occasion and celebration for a friend so their thoughtfulness and patience while going the extra mile meant a lot. I appreciate their consistency in customer service, especially the manager Kirk. True Bison excellence. Many many many thanks!

My wife is an alumnus so this is the best place so get paraphernalia. Friendly staff. Security watched me a little too much but she was doing her job.

Great customer service but prices are way too high !!!

This is my mother’s alma mater and I hope one of my children chooses to consider the university, so I went to the store while visiting the campus with them. I wanted to buy some shirts to support and foster school spirit. It was not a pleasant experience at all. The inventory is limited and exorbitantly priced. I came to support so that is what it is. But, the staff treats you like you stole something as soon as you walk in the building. No hello, no thank you for coming or how may I help you. Even blatant ignoring would be better. Instead, constant yelling, ‘if you’re not buying something get out!’ I didn’t observe loitering when I was there. Even if that’s a problem they face chronically, that’s no way to treat people patronizing the store. You might as well send these kids to the notorious beauty supply stores for that treatment. I was disappointed.

The Howard bookstore had everything I was looking for. Plus some items that I wasn't; but when I saw them, I just had to have them. It didn't dawn on me that I planned my visit during "move-in" time. It mattered nonetheless though, as supply was more than sufficient. The bookstore staff were very helpful and exhibited great customer service. Overall a great shopping experience!
