The Howard University Speech and Hearing Clinic (HUSHC) has been serving the special communication needs of the community for more than forty years. The Clinic is an integral part of Howard University’s Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders. Our primary mission is to prepare graduate students to assume professional roles in Speech-Language Pathology and/or Audiology in a variety of occupational settings. Graduate students work with clients under the direct supervision of professional staff. All faculty members hold the Certificate of Clinical Competence by the American Speech- Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). Effective communication is a vital component to a fulfilling life. At Howard University’s Speech & Hearing Clinic, clients receive services for the diagnosis and treatment for a wide array of communication disorders and differences.
