Visited here on Saturday. The library is nice. I like it. Everything is well laid out. Clean. The staff are helpful, however one of them in particular was not too welcoming. I see why some persons in the comments mentioned that, however I did not let that bother me. There is a staff volunteer to read for toddlers now this is a great idea. However please note they need to be more engaging, make the story exciting. My toddler covered his face when the story was being read. He never did this before and we have been to different libraries where he has been read before. He loves stories. Obviously I told him move his hands. Sometimes you have to go the extra mile and be a bit animated especially if you reading a book on Dogs. All in all, alot of information is available on courses etc so check out the library when you can.
Hyde Park Branch. Library is a quaint little library, where silence is Golden in there, if you open spaces to sit and reflect. There are no reading stales for privacy.
There are new computers and keyboards which I am glad to see. However, the only reason 5 stars isn't given is because the seats need to be replaced as well. It's uncomfortable using a computer in where one can't adjust the seat to accommodate posture. Other than that, good looking library. Staff member assisted me with the printer and wearing a mask was enforced.
I always look for "what's good in the hood". I have visited the Hyde Park Branch multiple times and my experience has always been positive. The staff was professional and helpful; and I appreciated the presence of security. Computers are available for 2 hours and there are laps tops for your use. The printer and copy machine costs .25 cents per page. The library is quiet and pleasantly cool in the summer. The ladies restroom is clean. There is a lot of information and good programs available for adults and children. Hyde Park Library is a good resource and a valuable asset "in our neighborhood".
I was able to mind my business in a quiet , safe, serene atmosphere. The staff is super informative.
It's pretty good. Service is alright. Not a large library but it's a good resource. Don't believe what they say about the hood... it's pretty safe over here maybe not at night but in be daytime than it's alright. Printing at all the Los Angeles Public Libraries is about 13 Cents more than FedEx Office and is 15 Cents higher than LA County Libraries. WiFi is pretty good. There's a mini- mart across the street which is good for grabbing something to drink or a quick snack. There's also a couple buses that are by here which is convenient for if you have a long layover and need a place to charge your phone or get on the computer
Went in yesterday morning to use a computer. Lady in the information desk was very nice and helpful. Fill out a form and Got my library card. I believe you can use the computer 2 hrs per day. They also have a printer you can print out of. 25cents per page. Was quiet and cool. Had a great experience.
I dont care for this library as much it is real small and they yell at u if your music is too loud in your headphones also don't fall asleep or they will yell at u for that... They always have a problem and I noticed they didn't do it to anyone but us. and we are white js. Its mainly the security guard there and one of the librarians that does it. on the plus side they have free reading material sometimes and wi fi access.
They shouldn't have certain people working the first desk with there bad attitudes and works very slow. She's tall,African American with a lot of hair. When I went there I asked for a laptop she looked at me up and down and told me to find a computer. When I specific asked for something I needed she gave me something I didn't when the next person asked for the same thing I wanted and she gave it to them.
A great, quiet library with tons of activities for both kids and adults. The staff is always friendly and attentive, and there is always plenty of room. Great place to study.
