Our family was extremely pleased with Independent Funeral Services. As our Mother passed and emotions were high, they made themselves available for our every need. All details were handled in such a professional way and Tanner was such a sensitive gentleman and excessively caring and thoughtful to our every concern. He stayed late at the viewing to ensure all feelings were addressed and we couldn't have been more pleased with his professionalism. We definitely recommend.
Tanner helped my family and I out recently with our loved one who passed. He was so respectful of our culture & grieving, & he was patient most of all. We will forever be so appreciative of him and the work he did for my family. My mom having had to deal with all of the funeral organization was just extremely happy to have him on her side to work with because he made it simpler for her. My family & I are forever grateful. My brother just recently passed, we reached out to Independent Funeral Services and Tanner was just so amazing. He came to our home & asked what we wanted & made it happen for my family. The patience he showed, and respect for our grieving, culture, friends & family. To this day we are still able to get in contact with them and they always treat us with the utmost respect & shows my family and I a lot of compassion & empathy. He made the hardest thing I had to do in my life a little bit simpler & for that we are forever grateful.
I was completely unprepared for my sweetheart's passing, and inexperienced in organizing funeral details. I visited two facilities, and found them mechanical, robotic. My daughter arranged to have Tanner meet with us in her home, and within minutes, he was my best friend, a family member. Not only did he foresee our physical and logistic needs, his faith, compassion, and grace supported and embraced our emotional and spiritual needs. With his sensitivity to our grief and our desire to honor my wife and my children's mother, he gently outlined our options, helped us prioritize decisions and enabled our wishes for private farewells prior to the actual services. Amazingly he was available night and day, and adeptly responded to our needs while doing the same for other families going through their own saddest experience of their lives. If I was to characterize Tanner, I would describe him as an angel sent from God to serve just my family, and to assure us, by his attentive demeanor, that God not only loves us, but that our sweet Karen was enveloped in His loving arms. And like all angels, God trusts them with multiple assignments and the power to do His will. If you are reading this, I assume that you are in the middle of a very stretching experience. Rest assured, Tanner and his family will not let you down, and will remove much of the stress so that you can feel God's love for you and your family.
We worked directly with Tanner and he was simply amazing. He showed compassion and patience throughout the whole process and made sure that us and our loved one was in good hands always. He understood our ideas and let us know what was best way to go about them. Couldn’t be more grateful.
It is difficult to express our family's appreciation and gratitude towards the team at Independent Funeral Service. They have helped us with the passing of 3 family members; each time has been handled with compassion and professionalism as well as a stunning attention to detail... they take care of the things that would be easily overlooked in times of emotion and stress. We will certainly trust them to future needs as they arise and would highly recommend them to anyone.
My ex-husband passed away in Texas. We have 4 children together and I wanted to make sure he was taken care of for my kids and also for myself as we were married 20 years. I was given a referral from my sister's friend who had used Independent Funeral Services. We are in Utah and with the fact that he was in Texas meant we had to get his body here. It was stressful waiting for all the steps that had to be taken to get him to Utah. Frank seemed to always be available when I called and helped me to feel at ease that everything would work out and even called me many hours after a business should be closed to let me know that they had gotten his body on the plane heading to Utah. I was amazed at how good my kids dad looked for the viewing. It had been a couple of weeks since he had passed and I was pretty nervous about how he would look after that amount of time. I also was so appreciative of the down to earth atmosphere of working with Frank. I also wanted to give a shout out to Frank's son who was up at all hours of the night helping my daughter who was putting the video together. There was a deadline to get everything submitted. My daughter waited until the last minute to get it put together. I would have totally understood if the cut off time had been upheld but Franks son worked with my daughter to finish it up. In the end when I found out the cost, I could not believe the cost and how low it was for bringing a body from another state. I know that if I would have went with our local small town funeral home, it would have cost us $5000-8000 more than what we paid to Independent Funeral Services.
This was my first time dealing with a funeral, and I had to figure everything on my own. Independent Funeral Services went above and beyond to work with e every step of the way. They cared about the small details, almost as much as the major details. They were wonderful from start to finish and I will definitely use them again.
Independent Funeral Services is a family owned business and did a great job. They made this tough time for our family a easy process! Thank you Frank and Isaac for everything!
