It will be difficult to condense my experience here but I will try to provide the best synopsis I can. I saw Dr Pendergast for a number issues I was experiencing and thought I was seeing someone who would evaluate me thoroughly. After one consult I was basically fat shamed and told that I could benefit from going to church or some other spiritual practice. Now that I have gone to a REAL doctor it turns out that I was in peri menopause and had no hormones left and have two additional autoimmune conditions one of which being thyroid disease all of these issues which caused my weight gain. I was also gaslit and told I didn’t have the autoimmune condition which I have had my entire life. Again upon consulting with a real doctor I do indeed have the same autoimmune disease but had developed two additional ones as well. I could really go on and on about how awful this experience was and how negatively it impacted my life. But I will for now leave this review in hopes I can save some other individual from going here and experiencing this incompetent treatment.
I went to this practice because of pain management. I have always had front and back treated. The acupuncturist at this location Radiant Point Acupuncture. Charged $120 and only treated my front and not my neck and back area. I will not be going back. Never again. I suggest you find an acupuncturist that doesn’t charge a high price for incomplete work. Yes, she was sloppy. I’m seeking another one with years of experience and not fresh out of school. I've read the reply from Radiant Point Acupuncture and I am not satisfied with the response from someone who is only two months newly graduated from Acupuncture school. I have been receiving acupuncture treatment for over 15 years. I am aware that it usually takes 6 to 8 hours for acupuncture treatment to take effect and normally my back and front is treated. So, it is unusual for only my front to be treated. Eight hours after treatment, I was still in pain. You have no idea what you are doing, and the city/state should close your practice down for public safety concerns. I would not recommend this acupuncturist to anyone; go somewhere else.
My wife was referred to Joseph Pendergast by our chiropractor to address a tight IT band that painfully effected her hip and knee. My wife had previously been treated by physical therapists and regular massage therapy without any noticeable improvement in mobility or pain reduction. Joseph used Rossiter Massage techniques to stretch the thigh muscles during my wife’s first visit. By the end of that first session she experienced a reduction in movement-associated pain. Subsequent sessions with Joseph have restored almost full mobility without the increased pain previously experienced. My wife looks forward to fully resolving her lingering chronic hip and knee pain with Joseph’s assistance. I accompanied my wife to her first visit with Joseph and took advantage of the opportunity to have him address my lower back pain. Plagued with lower spinal stenosis and mid-back scoliosis, I had taken to hunching my back a bit to lessen the pain while standing or walking. Over time I lost an inch or two in stature. Joseph used Rossiter Massage techniques to stretch my hamstrings and quadriceps. He also worked the spasmed muscles in my back until they relaxed. When I stood and walked following that first visit it felt like I had regained two inches and a few years. I have maintained that improvement since that first visit by performing the simple quadricep and hamstring stretching exercises Joseph suggested. Based on the positive outcome of our treatment, our daughter also sought Joseph’s assistance with her lower back pain. She was very happy with the results after two visits and will return for additional treatment. We highly recommend Joseph and the Rossiter massage therapy for anyone experiencing persistent muscle pain. We have enjoyed our visits with Joseph and look forward to our sessions with him. Ms. Gail is always very courteous and helpful during session scheduling and we enjoy the environment at Aiken-Augusta Holistic Health in North Augusta, SC.
Joseph was awesome and a true Godsend!!! I saw him twice for Rossiter sessions and have already scheduled more!! The day after was the best I had felt in months!! He knew exactly what was out of balance with my body!! I like him so much I've signed my husband up to see how Joseph can help him as well!! Gail is always a pleasure to talk to on the phone!! Genea is knowledgeable, kind and a wonderful acupuncturist. I would recommend her services to anyone. She helped during my first visit and I have noticed a definite improvement in my health.
I scheduled a consult with Karen early in my pregnancy as I was having nutrient deficiencies from food aversions. She was so helpful in planning meals and tips. I was able to have a very healthy pregnancy despite having aversions for nearly two trimesters in part thanks to Karen. She was very kind and listened to my concerns and addressed them all and was available if I ever had questions for her. I very much appreciate this practice and their role during such a pivotal point in my health/life.
Went to see Joseph for a Rossiter stretching session to treat sciatica in my right leg, which included significant weakness in my right calf. I was skeptical, but ultimately decided to give it a try. Noticed an improvement after the first session and sciatica and calf weakness were gone after three sessions. Joseph was great and the rossiter stretching exceeded all my expectations.
I cannot properly express with words how wonderful this place is! Dr Pendergrast and Gail are the most kind and genuine people you will ever meet. Dr. P ACTUALLY listens and CARES! He does not dismiss you, he makes you feel HEARD. He is a knowledgeable doctor who takes a whole person approach to your care. I suffer from several autoimmune issues and Dr. P is working closely with me to find a way to make me feel normal again and he will work tirelessly to make sure that you are on the right path! I love that he looks at your nutrition, mental health, spiritual health, and also uses aspects of traditional western medicine combined with his holistic approach. I had gotten to a point of feeling hopeless before seeing Dr. P and now, I feel like I have hope again. I have only been under his care for a few months, but in those few months, he has done far more for me than any other doctor over the last 10 years! I trust him and I feel that he truly has my best interest in mind and listens to not just what my labs are telling him, but also what I am telling him. I cannot tell you how many times I get dismissed by doctors who do not understand how to read labs for autoimmune patients and how many times they have dismissed me and under treated me. Dr. P understands how to read my labs and asks the right questions about how I am feeling in order to figure out where to go next with my treatment plan! The treatment plan he provides is unlike any other that I have received from my regular physicians. He takes the time to type up a full report for you to take home with you so that you know what the plan is and how to implement it. My first report was over a page long and very detailed in the best kind of way! I cannot sing this man's praises enough! Gail, his wife, is an amazing and loving woman. She always makes me feel welcome and like family! She is such a wonderful addition to Aiken Holistic and she is such a kind and warm individual! I love that they are a family ran practice! If you are tired of getting the runaround from your physician, trust me, it is worth every penny to go to Dr. P! He is a hidden gem in this area and I am so thankful for him and for Gail!
Dr. Pendergrast was recommended to me by one of my doctors in Athens, GA. I felt Gail's care and concern even over the phone. I drove to Augusta from Athens and my appointment with Dr. Pendergrast was delightful. Dr. Pendergrast is a caring, intuitive healer who assured me of my own ability to heal. I am recovering from a stroke, and Dr. Pendergrast gave me tools to continue my healing journey on my own so that I would not need to travel forth and back from Athens. I am grateful for Dr. Pendergrast's wise and supportive care., and for Gail's concern and support as well. We are fortunate to have Dr. Pendergrast in our region.
I had the opportunity to attend a speaking engagement where Dr & Mrs Pendergrast put on for Breast Cancer Awareness. The event was very interactive! We had a delicious dinner, we had excellent speakers, we received a book written by Dr. Pendergrast and we got first hand interactions to ask him questions. Well worth the $25 spent and full of information we need to hear more often vs. less often. I also appreciate that they are so very heartfelt about everything they do. God bless them!
