Project R.E.A.L. "Right now Everything is About Life" My name is Terry B. Miller. I am a Rehabilitation Counselor with 20+ years of professional experience working with adolescents and children with chronic and persistent mental illness.
Project REAL stands for: Right now Everything is About Life. Project R.E.A.L is an exciting and productive program that positively impacts children with chronic and persistent mental illness. Participants learn to manage individual behaviors and symptoms and utilize positive coping strategies to become effective leaders.
Project R.E.A.L. focuses on teaching leadership skills that promote mature learning and personal development. The goal is to increase independent performance in school, home and in the community abroad.
Children and adolescent with chronic and persistent mental illness suffer in school and community because they do not have the skills to manage their behaviors or emotions. Often times they are not given the opportunity to explore and participate in positive activities that are education and enriching due to poor behavior and social functioning.
